John Kerry Honors Small Business in the Senate
John Kerry Honors Small Business in the Senate
25 April 2005

The Senate passed a resolution today honoring small business and the SBA. This week, April 25-29, is National Small Business Week. When we hear John Kerry talk about small business it’s obvious that he gets what a small business really is, he’s not paying lip service, like Bush or confusing small business with large corporations.

“Every day, small businesses and entrepreneurs are making innovations, creating new jobs, and pushing our economy forward. In fact, more than 50 percent of our nation’s GDP and more than two-thirds of all new jobs in our economy are attributable to small businesses. From the high-tech startup and the small manufacturer to the family-owned bookstore and the lemonade stand run by the little girl down the street, small businesses and entrepreneurs are an exciting part of our communities. And the opportunities they create represent the American Dream.”

The Kerry-Snowe resolution, S.Res 120, honors the nation's 25 million small businesses for their innovation and economic importance. It recognizes the critical role played by the SBA in helping small businesses and entrepreneurs create opportunities for success.
