New Kerry bashing on Kos
Any of you who can still stomach Kos might want to comment here in defense of Kerry (see my post already there):

2. gah
You took the words out of my mouth, both of you. Dr. Ron, when I read the title of your post, the first thing I thought was, "I don't have the stomach for that place." But, if you posted, I'll go read.

3. Defense posted
I posted a defense of Kerry on LUTD and the Unofficial Kerry Blog. LUTD's post is at:

http://www.lightupthedarkness.org/blog/default.asp?view=plink&id=748

This issue was disucssed on both blogs previously but I just posted on it again for the benefit of RSS feeds. One of the feeds we are on has a lot of Kos people with varying degrees of anti-Kerry sentiment (and even some Kerry supporters). One blog entry from earlier in the day (based upon the Kos post) is entitled Kerry Jumps the Shark. I wanted my post to follow on the same feed.

I also found this post especially inaccurate per the title. Even if you disagree with Kerry, to day he jumped the shark now is a poor analogy considering he has been pushing for this since 1997.

11. Those who think they are in the know
Don't know what they don't know. You know?

It's amazing how ill-informed people are about their former candidate. No wonder we freakin' lost the election (maybe).

5. No
Hopefully the thread will get lost there. I just found it from a link on another blog.

6. I'm noticing a pattern...
The defenses make logical sense, while the slams are just knee-jerk irrational hate. Good job to the bloggers who defended. :toast:

(FWIW, I don't really understand why JK is on decent terms with somebody like Santorum, but hey, I have a couple of repub friends myself. I guess your friends are your friends. I'm certainly in no position to pass judgment on him for that.)

I'm not registered at Kos and don't plan to at the present time, but it's just my opinion that it's KOS who's "jumped the shark." He apparently posted something recently to the effect that it was his blog that played a large part in Dean becoming Chair. (And I thought I was egotistical at times. :eyes:)

But there you go. There as an article I posted here a couple months ago that went into that a bit.

8. What is nonsensical is that many wrote before they read anything

So they complain about things that aren't true or are not sensible. The posts that say it's bad just because Santorum is involved are silly. If this is a bill Kerry has been pursuing since 1997 to protect religious minorities, it's great that he is using Santorum's (and others) view that Christians are persecuted. I'm surprised the Santorum agreed to the pharmacy rule as the default is that someone will fill your prescription. (Which is a great "compromise" when there are states allowing owners to decide not to carry contraceptives at all.)

If Kerry refused to talk to all evil Republicans (and bad Democrats) wouldn't he be ineffective. His international AIDS bill was with Frist. Who knows what good will (or votes) he is likely to get from working with Santorum. I can't imagine how they think the minority Democrats would be able to do anything if they didn't work with even bad Republicans.

I doubt that he's inviting Santorum to his house though. :)

10. Agree
First I agree that if Kerry can get a Republican to cosponsor any legislation, that is great as it increases the chances of victory.

Secondly, I ageee that we get the better end of the deal. It is a typical case (as was the status quo pre-Bush) of Republicans letting the religious right have a rhetorical victory but getting very little in actual legislation.

13. The part I hate the most is when they start on the flip/flop meme
Boy, Rove didn't have far to go to find ammo on Kerry, did he? All he had to do was modify the Dem Primary Handbook. If Dean would have gotten the nom, we would have seen waffles instead of flip flops.

9. I think I saw this and refrained
AFter what happened today in committee, I will not sully my Snoopy Dance of Joy with a reply. They can bite me.

Gawd, what do these people want? The Amendment clearly states that pharmacists don't have to dispense the drugs if they have a problem of conscience with doing so, AS LONG AS THERE IS ANOTHER PHRAMACIST ON DUTY who can dispense the drugs. Geesh. Get a clue. The Republic is not falling because of this amendment.

And, if I may, a brief prayer: Oh Lord, bless and keep these, your fools, far away from me. Thank you!
