My real life community of friends, relatives and family are mostly liberal. Though some (well many) have said I should get over it, they are really unhappy with the Bush victory.
All the same, in addition to thinking that the country would be healing itself rather than becoming more troubled had Kerry won, there are weird times when I get intense pangs of regret that are not even logical. (ie seeing the 5th year of woman's magazines - that I would never buy - having their May issues highlighting Laura, I guess as the model mother. (Well, look how well she did with the twins.) Until this year, I had no reaction seeing them while waiting in grocery lines, now it's a visceral - This should be the brilliant, caring, NOT PLASTIC Teresa) Doesn't make sense to care about a magazine I don't get, but somehow I need to look away.
But it's great to be able to come here and know others feel the same. Also, seeing all the posted articles on what Kerry is doing makes it better because if he has clearly not given up on the country, we shouldn't either. Though seeing what he is fighting for makes it harder to accept that he is not the awesome President he was born to be.
However from the photos from Texas, Kerry appears to thrive on fighting to do good and he has to know it annoys the Republicans to see him gracefully fight on, proving he is for exactly what he said he was, while Bush is fighting for things he called Kerry a lier on. After seeing so many Bush administration faces warped by hatred, I saw the amazing Kerry photos - Imagine how inspiring this Texas open forum would have been if he were President. A President Kerry speaking to the nation, unafraid of taking questions would have been such a change in atmosphere. Then look at the Bush SS shows.
