I missed Kerry's speech today, but it seems to have touch nerves.

I was talking with somebody while waiting for Deval Patrick to speak, so I missed his speech (and Menino, but that I can live without), but I could see people were applauding. And it gives him more media than he had in 3 months.

From resident GOP propagandist Hillary Chabot at the Herald.

Kerry big dig on Baker warms up crowd for Obama
A fired up U.S. Sen. John Kerry implored a packed Hynes Convention Center crowd to “fight for (Gov) Deval Patrick” while throwing elbows at Patrick’s GOP rival Charlie Baker, as supporters waited for President Obama to take the stage.

“We did the Big Dig and I’m proud we did the Big Dig – though I think Charlie Baker could have made it cost a little less,” Kerry said as supporters cheered him on.

Kerry and the late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy’s widow Vicki Kennedy warmed up the partisan crowd – many of whom waited in lines as long as three-blocks long for a glimpse at Obama. The president arrived at Logan International Airport shortly before 2 p.m. and is holding a small fund raiser for Patrick before they appear together at the rally.

Kerry kept his focus trained on Baker while still skewering Patrick’s opponents – independent Tim Cahill and Green-Rainbow candidate Jill Stein who have both been trailing in the polls.

“I hear Charlie Baker and these other people running around and they just tear them down. They tell everybody what a terrible job they did when in fact the truth is just the opposite,” Kerry said.

...

POlitico (Oh, how does he dare attack these people)

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1010/43699.html

BOSTON – Sen. John Kerry took shots Saturday at Republican candidates up and down the November ballot, including a dig at Delaware Senate hopeful Christine O’Donnell’s admitted dabbling in witchcraft.

“You’ve got what’s her name, Christine O’Donnell, in Delaware,” Kerry said, speaking at a rally for Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. O’Donnell, he said, “wants to take away health care."

“I think she thinks she’s going to wave her wand and it will all disappear,” Kerry quipped, “but this is real folks.”

Kerry’s efforts to paint Republican candidates as extreme come as Democrats began to make their closing arguments before the Nov. 2 midterm election.

The former Democratic presidential nominee also went after “Sharron Angle out there in Nevada,” the Republican challenging Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, saying she wants to phase out Social Security.

He said Republican Senate hopeful Joe Miller of Alaska thinks Medicare and Social Security and unemployment benefits are unconstitutional. ( As far as I know Miller said that

And he accused Carly Fiorina, who is challenging Sen. Barbara Boxer in California, of not believing in climate change. ( Same comment

“These people are coming at you folks,” Kerry said.

Miller's campaign later fired back.

"It makes total sense that John Kerry and other liberals would attack Joe Miller. They're very comfortable with their good friend Lisa Murkowski," spokesman Randy DeSoto said. "Joe's not running for the Senate because he wants to work with John Kerry and Harry Reid on issues like cap and trade, like Lisa does. He's running to stop them. "

And Time seems to print the pool report the pool report.

It was such an awesome surprise, JK being at the rally too (though I had a feeling he might be:)). Both JK and President Obama (and everyone who spoke...such a terrific lineup..and a real treat!) and Gov. Patrick, too, were right on point. And there was SO much energy and enthusiasm in that building. Didn't feel like any "gap" there to me. Quite the opposite! It was a truly amazing event, worth every minute--okay, hour, lol--in line. So happy--and grateful-- that I got the opportunity to be there though I plan to watch the videos in full asap as when you are there in person, I know it's this way for me at least, you tend to get so caught in the moment, you don't remember everything that was said, lol, though I remember a lot of it. I remember JK saying something about how the crazed tea party types "should be sent to the Comicon convention instead" or something like that..LOL! And President Obama was in full form! Every bit as electrifying as on the campaign trail in '08, perhaps even more so. He obviously knows the challenges we are facing, but is not backing away or down. I so admire his resolve and strength and am grateful every day that he is our President! It was also great getting to see Gov. Patrick..it was my first real introduction to him, both in person and seeing a full speech of his. He's a great speaker and no matter what happens on Nov. 2, someone I believe has a very bright future in politics, though I believe he will win! *crosses fingers*

Two amazing events in the space of 3 days..I feel incredibly spoiled! lol :D

Thanks for the pics! Great to see these moments captured on film. Love the pic of JK, right under the article/link! :) It was also so great to see Vicki Kennedy, who also gave a great speech. Love all these pics! A truly awesome event!
