No linky. Just Google "FireDogLake Sierra Club"

We are talking vile stuff. Then she says this about Kerry/Lieberman ("They" refers to the Sierra Club):

They also don’t want to jeopardize the passage of a climate legislation bill, and have been fearful from the start that making too much fuss about offshore drilling could endanger Kerry-Lieberman. Is the passage of some shitty big coal bailout what their members desire most? Because it sounds more like what the Democratic Party and its lobbyists want.

The “veal pen” strategy executed by the White House insures this silence ...

The amazing thing to me is how Jane Hamsher is still in good standing with progressive bloggers. I see it on Twitter. They never criticize her, still follow her, sometimes share links. She really is an extremist. To say that the bill is solely for bailing big coal is just nuts. I mean, the bill is 1,000 pages long. Yeah, there are provisions in it that aren't very good but it at least caps carbon. Apparently, she supports CLEAR, which is kind of a lame bill.

I also find the term "veal pen" offensive.

Here is a good response:

1. There can't be too many who follow her extremism. I got tired of her
outrageous claims a while back. Personally, I think she is more interested in being a "name" than really getting anything accomplished.

2. yeah, i feel the same way
her and her followers aren't many compared to everyone else. but they are sometimes louder than anyone else and try to give the impression they are the real or only liberals. and anyonw who doesn't agree is less so.

7. She is still a member of the Liberal Blogger Elite and in good standing.
It doesn't matter if us "minions" disapprove of her. You will not find a post by any of the big names criticizing her, and in fact they still converse with her and offer the usual courtesies to her (linking, Follow Friday lists, etc.).

The truth is it is only the elite who have the power to get the message out. I really didn't care about challenging Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas, not because I approved of her votes & stances, but because it is a very red state and it looks certain that neither had a chance to win the G.E. I believe in choosing battles wisely, and overall, have been unimpressed with the stars in the netroots primary targeting. (Um, they merely bandwagoned in PA, which really was a local Dem situation). Yet the message we hear everywhere is that the "netroots" were part of the Arkansas primary. Well, I wasn't, yet I have no standing compared to Jane Hamsher. She rails against the Elite, but she is one of them.

13. The odd thing is that the "blogger elite" seems to sometimes have
been determined by the bloggers that MSM respected. There is far too much of an "in" crowd.

3. I especially liked this paragraph from the bucksenvironment page. .
It is disappointing when people like you suddenly jump on the bandwagon to criticize others who have spent years making REAL efforts to protect our environment. It’s time you and your fellow ambassadors of anger stop complaining about the problem and become part of the solution.

That phrase, "ambassadors of anger", strikes a chord. .
I think she's really gone off the rails.
I stopped reading FDL a couple of years ago, for all the reasons articulated on this thread. . sounds like it's/she's just getting worse

11. I do not eat veal because of this treatment, but to suggest that the far, far,
left is being treated this way by the administration and party is ridiculous.

12. The big difference between K/L and Clear is that Clear really has little
in the way of energy pieces - it is mostly the means to put a price on coal. If Jane were honest, she would compare it just to the part of K/L that does the same thing. If she were honest, she would also not that CLEAR does not not have a prayer of a chance to get even 50 votes. The regional issues, that Kerry worked so hard on are not in it. The entire Midwest ends up paying a fortune and getting a fraction of that back. It is great for Washington State.

I also think that she has a deeply felt hatred to Kerry - all I can think is that she is one of those who fell completely in love with Dean - and never questioned if their hatred for Kerry was well based.

Then Slinkerwink defends her. Ugh. And the front pagers stay silent. Of course.
