Seems like the keyboard army has arrived at Democratic underground.
We may as well be posting at Red State or Drudge. It's pretty amazing to see the foul place the regular gd forums have become! Just needed to vent!

1. I know
I have basically stopped putting anything there - using LBN, if I could defend it and GD-P, if there was any potential link to Obama. When Moveon.org finds 83% of their members support healthcare, GD is really the very far left fringe.

3. Even Ed Shultz who has worked very hard for the PO has told people to support THIS bill.
But it's more that the HCR. It's *everything*!!!

That's why I don't think these people are all from the 'left'. I think they're trolls who would have gotten kicked a few years ago.

I didn't know 83% of moveon supported it. Gee...didn't they tell us "moveon" was the far left?!

Thanks for letting me vent. I just can't read these blogs anymore and mostly lurk. But I had to express myself today because on the eve of HCR votes, I WANT this bill to pass because it's better than nothing. And I'm stressed out worrying about the direction our country has gone and the way the Supreme court's decisions have gone.

6. Many of the worst are long term posters
and they always have been hateful - I've used search to see what they've been in the past. I suspect that some are simply very angry people.

All I know is that I'm with you - I really want Sunday to come and the House vote to pass. At that point, the Republicans, in reality, are faced with voting for a package they likely agree with - if they play games, I hope the Democrats accuse THEM of protecting the special deals.

7. I really want Sunday to come
and pass too, but I also worry about what on earth is going to happen in the Senate after that. Is it true that they can still derail it because of procedural roadblocks in spite of the number of votes not being an issue there? I don't know...

9. I may be wrong, but I think the most damage they can do
is to force tons of politically painful amendments that the Democrats HAVE to vote down, because any amendment passed will mean it has to go back to the House - which leads to another painful iteration in both Houses. Now, the Democrats have had to deal with this for years. For years, there would be amendments, from people like Coburn, saying things like eliminate all earmarks and put the money to funding healthcare for all kids. Now, the intent was not to get health care funding, but to insert a poison bill that would defeat the bill. So, this is not a new Republican trick.

(I would assume the hardest will be things that are good (often Democratic ideas), that would be best passed outside this bill. (Feinstein's regulation provision is one.) But, expect to see howls here when JK and all the other Democrats vote down amendments that sound good here. This is also why it will NOT be good to have a public option amendment. Durbin was right - if the House doesn't have it, the Senate would need to defeat it - and JK, who is not up for office, is one who might have to vote against it.

2. I only go here on DU (I bookmarked a direct link to the JK forum), so as
to stay sane and all. Plus, when it comes down to it you don't learn much from those forums, and instead get drawn into their bizarre flame wars. I also gave up on dkos. I no longer post there, and only read anything from there when given a direct link for a diary. I never read comments. I primarily use Twitter now to get news and information, although I don't tweet. At the moment this is the best reading:

http://twitter.com/future_of_music

They're at the SXSW festival and live tweeting very interesting panels. Like the FCC, net neutrality, broadband, etc.

4. I don't read too much at Kos or Here. Just the TITLES tell you that
they're beating someone up!
