David Wade - Kerry aide gave boss a loyal proposition
A long profile of David Wade

You've got to love people who choose loyalty, in a town like DC.

Shortly after the presidential election, David Wade had to choose between Obamamania and loyalty.

He could keep riding the Obama wave and grab a coveted job in the new administration — after all, he had gained Joe Biden’s trust while logging thousands of miles as the vice presidential nominee’s traveling spokesman.

Or he could return to his Capitol Hill office and the boss he left behind.

In the end, Wade kept a promise he made to a man he calls “my boss, my mentor and my friend.” He went back to run John F. Kerry’s Senate office.

Wade’s return to the Hill this month surprised everyone — from Obama campaign officials to Kerry himself.

“He could have had his pick of administration jobs,” said Ricki Seidman, Biden’s campaign communications director. “I know Sen. Biden wanted him to stay with him, and he was well loved by the Obama people.”

But in the end, Seidman said, “he chose Sen. Kerry and his commitment to him. ... That’s very rare.”

This is an amazing story of mentoring and of loyalty. Their trust in each other is really impressive.

Kos said that Kerry's staff was only there for a paycheck. :sarcasm:
