John Kerry answers a good question on gay marriage
It was posed by a former Ed O'Reilly supporter, but I thought was respectful, and only wanted clarity on his position:

He was very happy with the answer he got, as was I. Although on personal beliefs I disagree with Sen. Kerry, when it comes to his views under the law, he has an excellent position that is truly marriage equality.

This was at the Tufts University event.

grounds. i think that was one area where he gave an answer based on politics.

Kerry himself has attended same sex marriages and he always came off as uncomfortable when trying to say he opposed it. especially compared to many other Democrats.

one of the best moments of his 2004 convention speeches was the part where he told the right wing not to try to get the anti gay stuff into our constitution and how he will oppose it. you could tell how much he felt that personally.

2. Well, I have to accept him at his word. He said personally
he thinks marriage is only between a man and a woman, and this is based on "his upbringing". However, he believes in equal rights for gays and backs the law in Mass. So essentially he backs marriage equality. I disagree with him on his definition of marriage, but he is of a different generation, and his daughters DO wholeheartedly believe in gay marriage.
