Cute story from JK event today -- just gotta share
I was in Leominster today, following JK around with a video camera as he did a Kerry On Your Corner tour of local businesses. After he got in the car and drove off, it sort of registered with me that at one point when I had quickly backed up to stay out of his way, I might've felt somebody's toes under my foot. (I get very focused on trying to get good shots of the Senator when I'm filming -- Luftmensch told me after the MA State Democratic Convention that at one point when I was following JK with the camera, a big cup of coffee that someone had left on a riser fell down at my feet, and I just took a step back to avoid getting splashed without interrupting filming; I had no memory of this at all. :) ) So I turned to the woman nearest me and asked if I'd stepped on her foot; she said no. I said, "Well, I think I may've stepped on someone's foot, but --" gesturing to the camera, "I was focused on the Senator."

She said, "Oh, I *know* -- isn't he a *dream*??" The woman next to her broke into a big smile and said, "Oh, yes!"

These are the stories of public reaction to JK that never get told in the media, alas.

1. Aww - that is a really cute story
it explains why your video's are so good. It is cool that he would be called "a dream" at 64.

Now, his opponent is more likely to star in a nightmare.

4. oh yeah, he's very approachable
When he's out shaking hands and hugging people and clearly having a ball, I always wonder when we're going to see this "aloofness" we've heard so much about from the press.

Though it was clear this lady didn't just mean that he was approachable. :)

5. by "aloof" they mean he's not a backslapper; he's not one of the boys.

He's real, and he's takes people individually, and seriously. That's why babies and kids are so comfortable with him: they know who the good guys are.

And he takes his job seriously.

It's for all these reasons that MSM doesn't get him. They probably see this kind of person so rarely that they don't know what to make of him.

But these qualities are exactly the reason why I support him so strongly.
