David Wade going to work for the VP campaign
Happy for him, he has been doing a great job for Kerry, but I hope Kerry has somebody else to watch his back in his Senate race. As we have seen, David can be quite effective.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/30/AR2008073003186.html

Senior Senate staffer David Wade is finally cutting the apron strings. Wade is leaving the office of Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), the only politician for whom the 32-year-old aide has worked in his 11-year career on Capitol Hill, to become spokesman for Sen. Barack Obama's running mate (whoever that may be).

Today is scheduled to be Wade's last day in Kerry's office before he jets off to Chicago to settle in with the Obama campaign.

...

"I think Crash Davis put it best: I'm just happy to be here and hope I can help the ball club," Wade told us, referring to the lead character in "Bull Durham," his favorite movie. "Senator Kerry's been like a father to me, and I'm grateful he urged me to do this."

1. Our VP nominee will have a fierce defender in David Wade
Although I'll miss his biting come-backs to attacks against JK. He's one of the best out there.

3. I'd like to know who he's passing the torch to.
At the very least, he must be feeling pretty confident about JK's chances against O'Reilly and Beatty.

5. yup, me too
Happy for Wade -- he deserves a position like this-- but also crossing all fingers that JK can find someone even remotely as good. Wonder if this is any kind of hint as to who the VP nominee will be???? (I'm sure it means that it won't be HRC, but I think that's already been clear anyway).

6. Apparently Wade is taking a 12 week leave of absence to work for Obama, not leaving Team JK entirely
Or so I was told by JK's online communications director when the news first went out.
