2. Interesting

I wonder if 2009 refers to when the offense occurred, when he was indicted, or when he was convicted. If the latter, he could be under pressure to settle it by the end of the year. I think for most crimes the law in effect when something was done is the one used. (I had mistakenly thought it was 2008 - in which case they would have needed a recent "gift" - so he likely won't be the first person to fall under this provision.)

Mean, pathetic greed. $250K over 7 years? A kitchen stove? Hell, even I can afford that. If you wallow in mud, at least do it in style!
