3. Yay, that should be good
Obama is lucky - Kerry is very good on those shows - always having an honest answer eloquently said. I wonder if he and Gingrich will be together. Their global warming debate was fascinating. Newt is a very good debater who seems to immediately claim the area in common.

4. Though, with Steph, we will have 5 mn about how he slapped Edwards,
This morning, this is all he could talk about on GMA: how they did not like each other, how Edwards disagreed with the campaign strategy and was complaining that Kerry was not tough enough (I wonder who is providing the talking points. No, I do not, in fact, it was in a certain book by a certain campaign chair from a certain candidate).

6. I hate that certain campaign chair
Kerry handled it well here - video: http://www.cbs3springfield.com/news/local/13716217.html#
The video is nice.

Whome - I think you'll like the hair length again. :) It seems someone may have been too busy to schedule a haircut.

7. it's gonna be good
There is nobody--nobody you'd want fighting in your corner for you more than JK. Loyalty is his middle name. And by the looks of it, he's still got as much energy and fight in him as his endorsee(is that a word?).

I also noticed the hair yesterday--and I'm with Whome--both of us being of a certain generation--I like it too. :)

and yes, I did notice it the other day, nice wave ;-). Really looking forward to this. I am sure he has polite and appropriate answers ready to the inevitable Edwards question(s).

9. I know that Russert is getting quite the rap in these parts
well, not THESE parts, you know what I mean, but I often find him to be a most interesting interviewer. He does play the gotcha game, but usually on relevant issues. In other words, yes, I agree with you .

10. I have a problem with Russert.
True, the gotcha stuff can be entertaining, but I'd rather he use the time to actually probe deeper into a guest's views on a subject and actually get more information for the audience. But he seems to love to skip across as many topics as he can within the time limit, always focusing on contradicting statements the person has made. As if finding someone who never has changed their views is the ultimate goal rather than listening an intelligent, thoughtful person. This is a conservative value and it's annoying and unhelpful.

Bill Moyers is my gold standard; he keeps asking and asking and getting deeper and deeper into a topic, asking just about every possible question from every angle. Really gets into the meat of it. I also like the Newshour people for the way they spend time on one subject, although they can be a little dry! Sometimes they are as good as a sleeping pill.

11. About changing views
I agree, there is nothing wrong with that, to the contrary. I keep remembering the great Colbert quote from the WH press reception about somebody who thinks the same thing on Wednesday as he thought on Monday, irrespective of what may have happened on Tuesday. OTOH, while sometimes the changes in position are for obvious reasons and need to be delved into, in some other cases the switch may need some explaining, that's all.
