6. And they were the winners, too. Those dirty Republicans cheated in
Ohio and elsewhere.

Dirty low-down traitorous Republican scoundrels, they are. And they cheated our guys.

And wanted to raise a glass in agreement? We could have a little party in celebration of the great ticket in '04. I'm sure lots of folks here would love to join in!

13. No doubt they would. John Kerry was a great presidential candidate and
John Edwards was a great vice presidential candidate.

Thank god they are on our blue team and not the red team. I mean, hells bells!

You can bang on my door any time, darlin'.

30. A close relative, and a survivor of many things, is not very political.
But she did watch the 2004 presidential debates.

To this day she is stunned that anyone on this continent could possibly have voted for Bush-Cheney when they had Kerry-Edwards as an alternative choice.

She is flabbergasted at kind of a cosmic level. This is just her gut instinct. She's not political, and doesn't really like politics.

But her instinct told her one ticket was demonstrably good and the other was unbelievably bad.

32. On a cosmic level
I agree. It's sort of like living in alterate universe or something. I'd like to replace the bad universe with the good universe and start healing the nation. Yesterday's news was so devastating. America needs healing and we're not gonna get until the evil ones are gone from the WH and the place has been smudge and exorcised and so on...

33. True... but the confluence of historical events now favors a Democratic
win in 2008.

The Republicans are really looking like bigger fools than they usually look like, and their usual is already gargantuan in the fool department.

I don't see Iraq getting any better between now and the Iowa caucus, and especially if Dubya keeps stomping his foot about the surge. And there's McCain nodding his head like a bobble-head doll.

Now let's hope everybody on the Supreme Court stays healthy until we can get a Democrat in there to fill vacancies with proper progressives.

34. Ah yes...
but sadly for me none in the Dem pool are all too appealing. I keep hoping I will like one a little but I still think the best pick or picks (Gore if not JK) are not in the game.

Oh the vision of a John McCain bobble head doll is too nauseating what if we had hugging Bush and McCain bobble head dolls?

Thanks OC for this - I needed a laugh tonight. Have you seen the video of JK on Colbert last night speaking of laughs? Too funny!

35. I may yet get to the Colbert clip -- I think everyone in the country
needs a little break from the hullabaloo from Blacksburg.

The president wasted no time for the photo-op down there, but took days and days to show up in New Orleans.

Memories are long in politics.

I think each misstep Bush takes hurts the GOP in 08.

37. Thank you for those links.
You did the right thing, definitely, touring a campus like that.

Maybe visit another campus in a short while -- just to stay in stride. This young man who visited so much horror on the VT community must himself have been in incredible pain. But all of it, horrifying as it was, is not going to be part of your daughter's future.

She will have her own future in a place of her choosing. And MUCH good will happen. I hope she saw it in that light.

38. My pleasure. I LMAO
We have 2 more campuses to tour this weekend. The poor kid she has to choose between the 3 lovely coastal University of CA campuses - San Diego, Santa Barbara or Santa Cruz. But she's already deeply in love with her chosen major (Anthropology) and each has a good Anthro Dept, so I think she's off to a good start and it's just a choice of which one she likes the best. San Diego didn't thrill her. For me, it means more nice drives along the coast and I can deal with that. :)

on those coastal drives.

A no-lose set of circumstances if there ever was one.

Bravo for your daughter's choice of majors and range of college choices, and bravo for the mom who helped get her there.

28. Well, WE voted for the right ticket. !! Red voters still showed up
for Dubya, many of them peeing their pants at the very thought that an intelligent man like Kerry could be in charge.

It frightened them.

Kerry-Edwards won Ohio if I'm a day old, and I ASSURE you I'm at LEAST a day old.

18. The fictionist reader in me says that those Rove emails are
deleted from KKKarl's computer but don't you know, Jeff Gannon still has HIS copies.

And for the right amount of check from KKKarl, he'll delete them, but if KKKarl can't cough up the cash, janglin' Jeff will sell them to the mainstream press.

Just a notion.

Great picture. A keeper.
