There's a really ugly, nasty piece on the Fox deal which of course trashes JK, not Bush. Because it's of course somehow his fault for being a "loser" that Bush decided to show unprecedented disrespect to the US Senate and unlawfully recess appoint Fox as Ambassador.

This is really, really disgusting, and the comments are just the icing on the cake. There's one Republican freeper troll in the comments, but despite the slurs he throws at liberals/Kerry, he gets one thing right: he remarks upon how utterly pathetic it is that the "Dems" on Wonkette are eating their own.

Edit: Shit like this is why I feel I owe ZERO loyalty to the Democratic party. Every time JK gets pissed on from the "left" it just makes me that much more likely to say "fuck it."

Of course, wonkette is SO typical of the Kool Kid Beltway Klub that seems to think incessant, mean-spirited snark is an adequate substitute for critical analysis and genuine wit. Guess what, kidz? 3. The point as you imply is why do inside the beltway Dems

join in with the Republicans in trashing Kerry - yet they are the first to scream when anyone says anything not filled with praise on the Clintons.

Here, as you say, Kerry is 100% in the right and he showed an enormous amount of grace on this issue. I have yet to hear the Clintons comment on the appointment. If Bush appointed the producer of the Clinton 911 film, I assume there would be a coordinated Democratic effort to scream about this. I doubt you would find a Kerry supporter sounding like Hilary Rosen.

It also bothers me that at the heart of her response was that "Clinton did it too". Not only did that comment ignore the special nastiness of the Fox appointment, a wise moral man saked a good question relating to this, "So, you think two wrongs make a right?" It may also be why I hate the idea of a Clinton restoration - and if there is one I know I want to hold them to the same standards I hold a Republican to. They sap our moral credibility.

I responded - to a creep who decided to gratuitously attack JFK's heroism as well. They really have a problem accepting that Democrats can be heros. It must really bug then that Kerry's war actions read more like 1940s fiction than real life. I would say imagine what they would do if McCain were a Democrat, but we saw what they did.
