OT: is Reid messing up again?

I just started watching the Senate a bit, and I see there is a discussion of the line item veto, Reid does not want to allow the amendment to be voted on (ethics bill). He argues it is "non-germaine", and McConnell threatens to filibuster without it. What the hell is going on, anybody knows?

1. Because it is not germane.

The line-item veto is not an ethics issue. It is a difficult question which deserves to be discussed independantly and not as an amendment to the Ethics Bill. Poorly written, it could send the Ethics Bill to the Supreme Court and make it invalid.

does not belong on the ethics bill. It is Republicans playing dirty tricks as normal, they can't stand that they are not in charge.

It doesn't belong on an ethics bill, has nothing to do with it.
