I think I will stay in here from now on
The same ole "he has killed his chances in 08, won't get my vote, fucked up" garbage in GD/GDP. I saw the story, he has nothing to apologize for. Plus, Pickles was here campainging for Corker and made a botched comment, but they covered it up. I HATE THE MEDIA.

Sen. Kerry is a grown-up. That's why he cancelled his campaign appearances, so that he won't become more important the the candidates who are running and so the media following him won't smother these all-important races for Congress.

6. It looks to me like more people are supporting Kerry than damning him
I think the majority of the posts out there are positive. Of course, if we "lose" this election by someone's individual yardstick, they'll probably blame Kerry. But who cares? Anybody that dumb probably wasn't going to vote for Kerry in the primary anyway.

10. Was Ford asked and if so - when?
If he was asked, he almost has to answer. Assuming he just said Kerry should apologize - and didn't say that Kerry intentionally attacked the soldiers or condemn him - then it's fine. It's politics and if he could get elected saying it - but not elected if he didn't - I assume Kerry would accept it as reasonable.

Kerry likely will need to reach out to service men and veterans - which he always has. It may make things harder - but it might oddly open a door, forcing him to do something that will make himself better known on veterans issues.

He called on Kerry to apologize. I agree with you about reaching out to service men and veterans. He may really have to meet one on one with the millitary families and people of middle America that get their news from cable and think that Kerry "belittled" the troops. If he runs again, the GOP is going to use it against him.

8. It's other candidate slams
Most of the slams I see are coming from people who support two specific candidates. They're using it to their political advantage. The truth is they expose themselves as caring more about their agenda than the coming election. A LOT of people are seeing that right now, so it's all good in the end.

I really wish the party would attack the media for carrying Bush's water on this. Until we do that, we're going to keep having these lies and it isn't going to matter who the 2008 candidate is. You'd think certain people would have figured that out by now.
