Okay, who has today's BHerald

What were the "Kerry Clan" eating with Babs? Why wasn't the blog invited? Who is that ugly man on the cover of the paper and why is he using Bechtel to correct the mistakes made by, ahm, Bechtel.

Babs’ Dem lovefest hits high note at Kerry soirée
By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa
Tuesday, October 24, 2006 - Updated: 01:18 AM EST

Barbra Streisand made a political pit stop at the palatial pad of Sen. John Kerry the other night, shortly after the Demmie diva mocked President Bush from the stage at the TD Banknorth Garden.

According to our Streisand spies, the Funny Girl and her hubby, James Brolin, pulled up to 19 Louisburg Square after midnight in a rather un-divalike minivan for a late-night supper and political gabfest with her fave Boston liberal and his daughter, Alexandra.

Earlier in the evening, after belting out “Happy Days Are Here Again” during the soapbox portion of the show, Streisand told the throng “I hope, on Nov. 7, I can sing that again. Right, John?”

Kerry, sitting front and center on the Garden floor, smiled and nodded enthusiastically at the thought of his party taking over on Capitol Hill come Election Day.

The senator’s spouse, Teresa Heinz, we’re told, was MIA from Bab’s Boston gig because she was in her hometown of Pittsburgh on the stump for Democratic congressional candidates.

Other Demmies in the adoring audience at the Garden included gubernatorial front-runner Deval Patrick, who reportedly has been offered a helping hand from Barbra. Which comes as no surprise since Deval worked for President Bill Clinton - and we all know how Babs feels about Bubba!

Deval, BTW, gathered quite an adoring crowd of his own in the pricey floor section during Barbra’s 20-minute intermission.

“He’s getting more attention than (Mayor Tom) Menino,” cracked someone in Section 12. Ditto for Kerry.

Now, before we leave the subject of Streisand and Clinton, who do you think the deep-pocketed diva will support if junior senators Hillary Clinton and Kerry both make a run at the White House in 2008?

Babs came out big-time for the Bay State pol during the 2004 presidential election, holding a huge Hollywood fund-raiser that raked in $5 million for his White House bid. (Her Bush-bashing version of “People” was a cyberhit that week.)

As for Hillary, didn’t she ban Babs from the White House after she discovered the diva had an overnight visit with Bubba when the lady of the House was away?

Our money’s on Kerry. Discuss amongst yourselves . . .

Now you know why I both love and hate the BHerald. Sigh! So snarky, so funny and yet so, classless and mean.

And, in other news, Deval Patrick has a 27 point lead over Kerry (Kerry) Healey. No one likes the Ice B*tch and the number of people who said, "No way, we ain't voting for her unless someone kidnaps one of the kids" is above 60%. Say goodnight Gracie, cuz you is done.

Independents, turned off by negative ads, flock to Patrick in new poll
By Andrew Ryan, Globe Correspondent

Democrat Deval Patrick has a commanding 27-point lead in the governor's race as independent voters abandon Republican Kerry Healey because of her negative attacks, according to a new poll released today by 7NEWS and Suffolk University.

Patrick had the support of 53 percent to Healey's 26 percent in the survey of 400 likely voters taken Oct. 20 through Oct. 23.

"The tone of the campaign has moved independents away from Healey," said David Paleologos, Director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center. "The tone changed from constructive criticism to negative and really turned off independent voters."

Sixty-one percent of those surveyed said they were unlikely to vote for Healey because of the "tone" of the campaign. Healey has particularly criticized Patrick's record on crime.

Massachusetts is about to become My Blue Heaven. Sigh!

The last minute trashing is that Defazio will ban hunting because an animal rights group gave him money.

Gawd we're so boring.

2. Ahm, it is lively around here.
Ms. Healey is cooked. Stick a fork in her cuz that particular Ice B*tch ain't gotten frighten your kids anymore.

BTW, she actually did that. Goons from her campaign dressed up in orange prison jump suits and went to the home of Patrick's campaign manager, John Walsh. They frightened Walsh's 12 year old son, who was home alone. He called the police on the 'prisoners' and they fled. Ms. Healey denied her campaign had anything to do with goons who frighten children, then admitted they were 'hers' yesterday. What a piece of work she is.

Say goodnight Gracie, you can go back to being the Queen of Prides Crossing real soon. Maybe you can find a home for old criminologists who frighten children somewhere nearby.

We like our politics, ahm, personal and lively and passionate. It makes for a fun day.

4. OMG, what in the world for??
How could anybody possibly think stalking someone's home like that would be a good idea?? What was the point anyway?

I'm glad it's all working out in Patrick's favor at least.

5. there was a great suggestion over at

blue mass group that Patrick should ask his supporters to send money to Healey so she can run more ads.

I liked that one.

Oops - got it wrong. I was Dan Kennedy who deserves the credit for that one.

Patrick should ask his Internet supporters to send money to Healey so that she can buy some more ads.

15. we've got nothing interesting in WI either
Kohl is a shoe-in with no real opponent.

Gov. Jim Doyle is holding his own. His opponent, Rep. Mark Green is a Bush clone and everybody knows it. He's trying to make statements clarifying his stance on stem-cell research so that he doesn't look so opposed. And he's nit-picking on educational funding. He's also in real legal trouble for breaking some rules regarding using out-of-state funding for his campaign. They're telling him he must repay the money, and he says the court is against him because it's partisan. Don't think we have to worry too much about him.

6. 3 polls today (Rasmussen, SUSA, and Suffolk), a 24 to 27 lead
depending on the pollster.

All details on bluemassgroup.com.

So much for the rumor she had an internal poll showing Patrick lead just in single digits.

7. I used the cover photo
for my post today: http://toughenough.org/2006/10/how-can-it-be-that-oversight-was-so.html

What a preening, self-involved, lying, duplicitous sack of shit he is. Oh, and disloyal too. He can't even be bothered raising a finger to help his Lt. Gov. get elected.

By the way, this was a lovely story. Don't see enough like this.

13. Yeah!!
We saw him and Kitty at the rally.

If you live around here it's not unusual to run into him. I've seen him at the local Stop and Shop a bunch of times. Just doing the shopping, you know. He's unfailingly polite and friendly.

And when you know something about Kitty's history http://www.google.com/search?q=Kitty+Dukakis+ECT+therapy&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official
you can really appreciate what a genuinely good man he is.

14. Don't he and Cam Kerry both live in Brookline?
What happened to Dukakis was disgraceful - he was just one more victim of the soulless BFEE who will in cold blood cut down anyone who gets in their way.

I'm sure he's probably happier being a private citizen away from the vicious backstabbing cesspool that is American politics, though.

9. Why not use this to an advantage
Perhaps I'm not as versed as some of you in the MSB (Mainstream blogs, ie DK, My DD, TPM, etc), but why isn't anyone mentioning this:

She was in her hometown of Pittsburgh on the stump for Democratic congressional candidates.

If that is indeed the case, why isn't anyone writing on diaries by Kos, Ezra, or Chris Bowers that THK is helping out, not just cash notion?

Just a thought...Benny

12. After seeing it - I changed part of what I was saying
to include that Teresa was working for candidates independently as well.

This really is a Rovean thing. Kerry has worked extraordinarily hard on this ellection - in raising money, recruiting candidates, defending candidates and attending events. (As have others) This attack is attacking a strength and attempting to smear him. Someone clearly wants him out.
