posting these things. In case anyone hasn't seen it, the web sit looks totally different. There are several videos of speeches under multimedia and the text of many speeches are under News, and then speeches. The blog already has lots of posts.

I think we represented this group well. I'll post something in a bit. Either the lighting or the photographer :-) was not so great last night. I took a ton of pics, but only got about a dozen that I really like. We did get to speak with the Senator after the speech, he was his usual warm, funny self. He stayed for quite a long time after to talk with folks. Also, Teresa spent time hanging out with us talking about, among other things, how great it is to meet people on the road and get their views. She has got to be one of the most lovely women I've ever met. So insightful. She's someone you would love to spend hours with just talking about life in general. Just as down to earth and gracious as her hubby.
Also, I got a HUGE hug from Marvin, who is totally cool.

I have never met Teresa came close at the rally in N.C., but was within inches.

I met Marvin at the Memorial day parade in '04, what a great guy. I asked him to sign a picture that JK signed and he blushed, but he did and knew I was a JK blogger. He signed it "You're the best, Marv".

28. Um. Wow!! I watched the speech last night, and it was incredible!

I agree with someone upthread that his passion seemed to increase as the speech went on until it felt like the whole room was going to explode in excitement!!

I noticed that he calls not having everyone with health insurance "immoral". He added, "That's Bush's America". Yep, that about sums it up. I'll be interested to see how he morphs the important anti-Bush message to something else the closer it gets to the primaries and the more Bush quacks. He'll presumeably have to go after McCain, if he continues to lead in the polls.

I loved it when he talked to the 11 year old kid and asked him if he did any blogging (which the kid did not)!! That is so cool! So, I guess you guys talked to him after the cameras turned off? I wouldn't blame you if that was so.

I look forward to hearing from the folks who were there; you must still be on a high from such a great speech.

30. We did talk to him way after the cameras were gone

They tables were all stripped and they were folding up the chairs already. We were the last ones out of the room. But we were asked to stay and come over for a pic. (Yeah, like twist my arm, LOL!) It was nice surprise when Teresa came over. (I looked to my right and there was Teresa, just saying hello. That was, ahm, really wicked cool. I love that woman.)

We had a blast. I was spending time trying to figure out how the speech was playing the room. It played very well. We saw a lot of applause, but also a lot of people who would hear something and then turn to discuss it with someone at their table. That is a good thing to see. People were listening which is exactly what you want.

We had a great time. The room was packed, the food was semi-edible, though there was a debate on whether it was chicken or turkey (tie vote, btw) and the company could not have been better.
