Kids see the truth better than adults, sometimes.
My 7th grader son came back from school yesterday and told us that, in social studies, they had listened to a speech of JFK and GWB. He was able to remember the key sentence of JFK speech "dont ask what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country", nearly word by word and had a basic idea of what the speech was about.

When it came to Bush, the comment was that Bush forgot what he had to say (not sure what speech it was) and that my son did not remember what it was about, may be war?

I had to laugh because I think he got the message very well.

Also, we had Back To School night Thursday and the science teacher told us she was going to use An Inconvenient Truth as her support for the global warming unit.

So, altogether, it was good to see that my kids were learning the right thing.
