I am not posting my own, but showing where the MassVictory 06 people have put up really nice pics that feature a certain famous Senator from Massachusetts. (No, not that one, the taller one.)

Check out the UMass pics and then the Lexington Cookout ones. (In which I stayed out of the pic, but I did see some other familiar faces from this group, LOL!) Ahm, Sen. Kerry is the one at UMass not wearing Red Sox or Patriot clothing. (It's a Mass thing. We are tribal and choose to identify others of the tribe by certain ritual clothing signifiers.)

2. That was another fun time.

I have already gotten about 10 calls from Victory 06 and that was before the primary win. We are Town Co-Chairs for Deval Patrick and I think that means I have mystical powers to compel voters in my 'red' town to come out and vote Democratic. So I can either work very hard or just be a poseur who talks a good game but isn't there when needed. Geez, I couldn't live with that.

I saw you too! BTW, congratualtions to your hubbie on being a precinct captain. Best of luck and welcome to the Mass Democratic fold. (Being a Mass Democratic means never having to be on time anywhere, among other things. Sigh!)

4. your town went for Deval Patrick, too, right?

Amesbury did by 57%, I think, and Newburyport by over 60%. No surprise there, really :-) The Patrick people Tony met with and recruited were hesitant at first because - get this! - they all claimed to be Independents and, while they supported Deval Patrick, they wanted nothing to do with the Mass Democratic party's effort to canvass and get out the vote.
Tony shamed them into it. Pretty much enlightened them that Patrick was, duh, a Democrat, and their independent canvassing efforts would be a lot less structured and effective than those guided by Victory '06. I think he convinced a few of them at least. Our mayor seems to be on board anyway.
Tony has also volunteered to canvass Newburyport. Looks like we'll be busy. lol
