Please rec and comment on my dKos diary as soon as you can
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/9/15/102526/340

It's based on Tay's report this morning as well as John Kerry's post and speech yesterday. I think it has a chance, so any help is greatly appreciated.

1. Done and fantastic job on the diary
This is or at least should be a topic beyond partisanship. We cannot have a failed state in Afghanistan. It will breed more terrorists. Afghanistan is now a narco-state, getting most of it's income from the sale of heroin. Gawd, we have so screwed up over there.

It is infuriating that Kerry warned about the dangers of this in the 1990s and no-one has listened. His "New War" book should really be reissued as it still has more information on the overall problem than anything else I've seen. My husband bought me the book and I read it this summer and it was terrifying.

In yesterday's NYT there was an article that echoed the problems of the 1990s in Russia. The man who has led the effort to reform the banking system to stem money laundering was asassinated. This world is becoming scarier by the day and DU to the contary, it's not because the MA Senator spent 2 hours windsurfing.

3. Okay, no longer urgent -- diary has dropped off the page
And it's not the only one that has been largely ignored about Afghanistan. I am tempted to write a tirade against liberal bloggers who are more interested in the horse races or themselves, but I will refrain myself. Anyway, this diary is now just for your reading pleasure -- no need to rec or comment anymore.
