2. Most excellent!! I especially like the last line from Taylor

If you haven’t heard, Cheney will be Tim Russert’s "exclusive" guest on "Meet the Press" on Sunday. I’ve got one question for Dick: Why did you lie about the decision to shoot down Flight 93?

From the tone of our conversation today, if Kerry had just five minutes with the vice president I bet he’d get a straight answer and he wouldn’t have to use waterboarding to get it.

Given our serious discussion on torture/waterboarding and so on today, for some reason that just made me laugh.

3. yes indeed
and seeing how pissed he was in the SFRC, we can tell what kind of a mood he's in this week. And honestly, it's catching--I am feeling super pissed off today, too!

That speech this weekend is going to be a doozy.

4. LOL.
Then I’m working this morning, in the middle of a conference call actually, when my cell phone rings. It was John Kerry.

After quick pleasantries, Kerry took off. If Iger’s office door was open at the time he could have heard Kerry all the way from Massachusetts. Talk about ticked. He let rip. Let’s just say Kerry’s fed up and he’s not going to take it anymore. After our conversation, which lasted around 15 minutes, I got a statement from him that says it all.

6. This is wonderful!
I love Taylor's post and Senator Kerry's statement.

Comment 107 was VERY telling.

Looking forward to Kerry’s speech tomorrow. Eight of us MA FDL folk will be there taking notes. We’ve been told that he’s not the guy that his handlers made him into for the 2004 campaign. Time will tell.

We’ll let you know what we hear tomorrow.

Taylor,
Really glad he had the sense to get hold of you and open up. I think he and his staff are getting it re the blogs, who we are and what we are about. Works for me.

So a bunch of folks will be there to judge for themselves. They are in a good show. There should be a full house and Kerry is so pissed he's gonna rock. I can't wait! There's nothing like JK when he's angry. This is the warrior Kerry that we know and love. I hope the FDL folks go home hoarse from cheering and dog-tired from standing ovations.

7. Fantastic!
I'm so glad they posted this tonight. It's a great way to get people excited about tomorrow - even if the circumstances and the docudrama are, frankly, kind of outrageous.

9. That is a great state of mind for Sen. Kerry
It goes back to being 'The Avenger' who exacts a price for the lying and the wrongs that have been done. It works for him. It works for us, as Americans as well.

8. Oh God, tomorrow is going to be one for the ages
I just love pissed off Massachusetts pol in the morning. It seems like righteous victory. Seriously, when the Senator spoke these words in April, it had special meaning to me, especially given the setting:

This hall and this Commonwealth have always been at the forefront of seeking out and living out the truth in the conduct of public life. Here Massachusetts defined human rights by adopting our own Bill of Rights; here we took a stand against slavery, for women's suffrage and civil rights for all Americans. The bedrock of America's greatest advances-the foundation of what we know today are defining values-was formed not by cheering on things as they were, but by taking them on and demanding change.

That is one of the most flattering things you can say to a Mass-soul: you are descended from hellraisers, who changed the nation. Go forth and do likewise. (Oh, there aren't enough little :loveya: in the world for that. That was a wicked nice thing to say. Thank you Senator, it's nice to know that one pol in Mass 'gets us.')

Give 'em hell Senator, just give 'em hell.

11. I just love his ending comments. So true!
"I love watching movies, but with the world looking the way it is right now I think this is a good time to stick with just the facts. After Iraq, we’ve all had enough fiction to last a lifetime."

12. it's great to see Kerry attack those who do the "swiftboating"
instead of criticizing and demanding that those attacked respond to them.
