OT: Horse Slaughter Bill PASSED Despite Bush Administration attempt
to derail!

:woohoo:

I couldn't believe that Bsh was against this bill. Not only do you never see this fake cowboy on a horse, but he wants to send them to slaughter.

But the "good guys" won this one!

Yeehaa! Take that Shrub!

2. That is a beautiful photo.

JK seems very comfortable around horses and look at that smile. The way he touches the nose like that: you can tell he's been around horses and is used to touching them. Weanlings like the taller of the young ones can be quite nippy. JK doesn't look worried does he?

edit: Another Photo
Interesting to note: JK sits the horse like a real rider not just someone stuck on a horse. The first rule of any kind of horsemanship is to keep your heels down. Comparing the two riders, I think JK is actually used to riding and his friend is a beginner.

3. Bummer. Now they are saying that this wasn't the final vote.
:(

Sometimes the House is really confusing. IS the final vote tonight? This certainly looked like a final vote today. Nothing was mentioned about debate.

4. he can ride a "cutting" horse
I don't know much about horses. But somewhere I read or heard that he came to visit Imus riding a cutting horse, which is harder to ride than a normal one. A cutting horse is one who knows how to cull out cattle out of a herd, I think. Maybe I should stop talking about what I know so little about!

5. Interesting. I'd really like to find the link to that interview,
If anyone has it, let me know. I'd love to read it.

I'm not all that knowledgeable about Western style riding, but I do know that cutting horses are very well trained, extremely smart (most horses are not smart) and probably wouldn't take to a "greenhorn" on their backs. This says something about JK and horses indeed. I want to know more!
