2. It might be REALLY busy. You have got to see it, everyone!

Unreal, spoke the truth in such a poignant way, if only every journalist was like this. This link took place in the last 8 minutes of the program and he had Howard Dean on at the beginning. No one remembers Howard after this, and he was great!

Edit to add this, from Tom Yossarian Joad:

KO IS BRILLIANT!

Please, pass it on. This is the most important rail against the machine I have seen or heard in 30 years.

Give it its due. Make sure it's heard.

Peace.

Please download and pass it on. I'll get it up as a flash tomorrow if enough people want me to or smarter people don't do it b4 me.

By free download I mean that it's not taking away from anyone's site. This is a personal web space that they did not put a limit on band width or really anything else other than disk space.

8. That was breath-taking!
I watched the Murrow movie (Good Night and Good Luck) a while ago and thought immediately: Murrow all over again! I called my daughter over to watch Olberman's comment together, and we both think that it is a defying moment in American History. Is this the beginning of the end of BushCo as Murrow's comment was for the McCarthy era? These crooks have to go. I hope for all of you that you will be able to take your country back in November. Good luck!

4. I was going to tune in at midnight,
so thanks.

That sent shivers down my spine. The man has some courage.

Did anyone watch Hardball tonight? Norah O'Donnell gave Mehlman a pretty hard time. I was surprised. And that Brian Williams interview of Bush. Man. Just let him talk - it doesn't really matter what questions you ask him. Every time he opens his mouth he exposes himself for the shallow, brutish liar he truly is.

6. KO is a great journalist.
He needs to be put into a more serious format, and be able to have more guests. His talent is wasted on all of that comedy stuff. I was amazed at that last speech! He did his hero, Edward R. Murrow proud tonight.

9. That was excellent and chilling
I disagree with Olbermann on one small point, though. We DO have a Winston Churchill in our midst - a voice of protest whom the powers in control seek to demonize and marginalize with all their might. A man who calls them out for their blatant moral and strategic failures and who seeks to shine a light on the elephant in the corner that they refuse to acknowledge. That man, of course, is John Kerry.

"Never, never, never give up" - Winston Churchill

10. Exactly!
I thought the same thing when KO said that we didn't have a Winston Churchill: "yes we do! John Kerry!"

12. To be fair to KO and JK
Keith said that there was no Churchill here tonight, as I took as in the studio. But I did think of JK the minute he said it. He did a great job, and using Murrow was perfect.

11. I wonder if we could collectively put together
a set of Kerry comments that span the issues he raised - that would be complete and substanitive enough that they show how on target he was, how eloquent and how inspiring - but in a compact enough form he doesn't blow it off.

I would guess that - even being a liberal leaning TV talk person, his view of Kerry may be limited to the convention, the debates, the concession speech and snippets of stuff filtered by the media.

I wonder if he has a clear view of all the provisions of Kerry/Feingold. The media, the Bush administration and a large part of teh Senate worked very hard to make enough noise that it was cut and run, that I wonder if even people on our side in the media know that it was a very detailed thoughtful plan - and no one but Kerry is making an effort to explain it.

On National secutrity, I wonder if he ever read (or saw) the University of Pennsylvania speech.

(In Tour of Duty, it's mentioned that Kerry even had a letter from Churchill's wife praising his work on the Yale political union. So, he even has a Churchill connection.)

14. Interesting and excellent point!
People, primarily using the debates, try to make this an issue between Kerry and Bush. Actually, since the election, this has been a battle between the conservatives/neocons and Kerry on the issues. The entire lot of them --- Kristol, Boot, Krauthammer, and the AEI, PNAC and Heritage foundation crowd --- have nothing left in their arsenals except distortions! Conservatives like Will have conceded that Kerry was right!
