Great dkos diary about why Lieberman can't be stripped of rank
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/8/26/195429/762

It's slipping off the reco list, so if you all could giive it a bump...

This isn't about Kerry specifically but it was one of the things that's been hurled at him a lot lately ("Why aren't you calling for Lieberman to be stripped of committee assignments?...or the more vitriolic version....)

The diarist (BigDog04, who also posted about Mike Conallen crashing JK's press conference call with Patrick Murphy), points out:

This reality, and the fact more didn't know it (including me), also points out that we, as the Blogsphere, need to learn more about Senate procedure.

This is something I'd like more dkossers bloggers to see and take to heart, before they slam pols for not heeding their every whim. (I posted something to that effect).

3. Thanks
I had been thinking along the lines of Joe being the Democrat in office when committee seats are assigned and remains there until he is defeated, just like anybody else in Congress. It didn't seem logical to me for him to be ousted from his committees without throwing the whole Senate into an uprorar, but I didn't realize there were procedures that would actually make it next to impossible. Good to know and I hope it puts that waste of time to rest. Although I'm sure they'll come up with some other Kerry sin within a week if not hours.
