"And I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died"

I remember though - I cried!

RIP - John Lennon - December 8, 1980

1. I could tell you exactly where I was when I heard.
I was in a college dormitory, probably studying, and my roommate had turned on the TV. I was shocked when Geraldo Rivera reported on what had happened outside the Dakota (a building I'd passed the year before when visiting family in New York).

My two closest friends had gone out to see "It's a Wonderful Life" at the student union, and I called to tell them about John Lennon. One of them observed sadly that the movie had made them so happy, and now they were shattered by the news.

Today I wrote "IMAGINE" -- just that one word -- on the assignment board at work.
