A Maudlin Moment
I'm having a moment here. Every once in a while I'm just struck by how fast life is passing. I remember as a kid just getting through a math class was a life time. Now I'm almost 50....It seems like a blur.

I'm not by nature prone to depression and I know this too will pass and tomorrow I'll be making cookies and wrapping presents and getting the house ready for the week-end. The tears will be gone and the blessings of menopause will cause me to forget the intenseness of this moment.

But I sure hate when these feelings creep up on me for no good reason.

1. embrace these feelings
i am ahead of you by 6 years. ive learned that the weeping is a cleansing that actually refreshes me. some days im a magnet for the sorrows of the world, some days im the trickster, and more often than not im called upon to teach. im seeing much more of the inside of the inside of things nowdays.
peace and love empressofall

2. I'm right there with you
I'm 46 and wonder why my life is flying by while I watch. I measure it by watching my teen son, the school years fly by and I now realize that he will be an adult much sooner than I am ready for. This is his 14th Christmas with us, I have only 4 more before he graduates from high school and moves on. That said, I now have the motivation to start wrapping and baking. At least the house is done.

3. I'm three years older than you
and I know exactly what you are saying. I remember we would look at each other when we were kids, that look like - what is she talking about- when our mom her her sister would talk about time going fast.

Mom was right....

4. understand completely
I saw a friend tonight at a fundraiser. Her twins are in high school -- it seemed like yesterday when she was carrying them. We were in one hell of a political fight in our community back then, and here they are -- almost grown. She remarked on how fast life is going, just like her mother said. And she's at least 10-15 years younger than I am. I wish I could slow the time down -- I wish I could bring back family and friends who have passed over. You have your cry, and then you just move on -- that's all that we can do.
