Anybody watching Tess Gerritsen's series, Rizzoli and Isles?
There are several authors whose series I have followed from the first book, and I really have trouble with the disconnect in the screenplay. In the books Rizzoli marries Agent Gabriel Dean in book 2 think. Yet he has hardly appeared in the series. It makes it hard to make a connection.

I hear Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series will be turned into a movie or book...same thing there. I have read the series and hope they do a good job.

I would almost rather watch it in TV and then read the book. :-)

1. I watch for now
I watch "Rizzoli & Isles" and have since first season, but I've never read the books. I pretty much watch it for the mad chemistry between Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.

Not sure I'm going to keep up with it, however. IMO, the producers/TNT got scared of all the lesbian buzz surrounding the show, and tried to make it less so at the expense of the central relationship and the character's maturity level. Add to that really lazy writing, no continuity, and extremely inconsistent characterizations and the show is a complete mess. I think second season has been terrible.

It's a shame, because they have a great cast.

2. I agree about 2nd season.
Just bad scripts. I guess I need to stop watching TV series based on books I have read. I never expected the script not to veer from the book, but when a central character is just simply left out....thus leaving out a child and the whole interaction it is just too much for me.

I hope they get things together next year, or I don't think I will bother. The Closer has kept the great characters and their personalities....R&I can't seem to do that.
