Survivor China - Episode 5 Discussion Thread
I guess I get to do the deed since my player got tossed overboard :(

I really dislike those 2 girls now. The smirkiness was beyond sickening. That move, I hope, will come back to bite them. It wasn't the strategy so much that bothered me, but the smug attitude and how they didn't even *try* to conceal what they were doing!

I hope next week brings the return of the kidnapped members, hah, that would be funny! Then they'd be really sorry they didn't vote James out instead of Aaron!

James, so innocent, so naive, couldn't even fathom what they were doing. I hope he wins it, now that my player is out, but alas, I think we all know that his days are numbered...

1. The smugness really bothered me, too.

At first I thought the move was strategically smart, but watching them afterwards, I changed my mind. Since the 4 players who got switched had huge bull's-eyes on their backs, why in the world didn't they get immunity from being voted off, at least for one, if not two, challenges. I don't feel like watching next week since they'll probably throw another challenge so they can get rid of James. Jeff picked up on what Jamie and PG were doing and even he seemed pretty disgusted. Aaron got screwed...did he ever figure out that he was targeted?

  to Jamie and PG for poor sportsmanship.

2. Big move, dumb playing
I have to agree. Strategically, this is a HUGE move that could seriously pay off. It makes my little Survivor heart all tingly when players attempt something so blatantly strategic and risky.

However, they played it dumb. Yes, the strategy has merit, but there's a gracious way to go about it, and what they did was not it. A little subtlety would've really been nice. I also think the women coming up with the plan and not included their teamate in it was dumb, too, because it alienates him, and puts him in a difficult position. Really not very smart--they should've played it better.

Still, I do admire the play. It's a big, strategic play based on sound strategy. I wonder if Burnett will devise any twists to thwart it. It hardly seems fair that the game sometimes gets "adjusted" as it goes along, but I have a strong feeling that's exactly what's going to happen.

3. I still have not seen it
so I need to reserve comment on the smugness until I watch the tape. I was out of town on vacation. I heard about it the next day though. I think it was great strategy, though I would have ousted James.

4. Finally got to see the episode
I was behind a couple episodes and will be end up missing episodes again after episode 6. I'll catch up eventually!

Ack! I wanted to wipe that smile off Jaimie's face. Poor James, I couldn't believe it took Jeff pointing out that the two girls threw the challenge for James to figure it out. Jamie's little boyfriend (don't remember his name), seemed torn between voting with his friends and being disgusted at them for throwing the challenge.

I almost hope the other tribe throws the challenge next week to get rid of one of the two new members. Nothing against Frosti or Sherea (sp?), but I would be laughing at PG and Jaimie.

I just hate when players act so smug.
