Survivor Fiji - Episode 12 Discussion Thread - NO SPOILERS
I was out last week. Sorry I missed posting this. I watched the tape this weekend. Alex played well, but he made a few mistakes. He relied on Dreamz after being aligned with people who treated him badly. He underestimated Earl and Yao as well. All in all, he played good, but not good enough to win.

That meat challenge was disgusting. I was glad for Boo though. He has grown on me. He is not playign the game well, and will be ousted soon. He should have grabbed Alex and made a play for it. But oh well. Yau is showing them a bit too much for my taste. He is becoming a threat for he gamesmanship. Earl is just as tough, but earl is sitting back and letting Yao look like the strategy guy.

Earl is setting himself up to win this game. If he is smart, he will take Cassandra and Dreamz to the final with him. I think there is soem anger tward Dreamz on the jury, and I think the four horsemen will vote for Earl over Cassandra.

1. If Earl is smart he'll take dreamz because he has stabbed everyone
in the back on that jury. I think Boo and Stacy had a golden opportunity to force a tie with earl and you and possibly pull Dreamz over to their side, but they wimped out and will be picked off now one by one. I liked Alex but I always like the underdog in the fight.

Earl made a mistake when they got back to camp after voting out Mookie where he flexed his muscle and told Boo and Stacy it was a mistake to split the vote and he will not let it happen again. I think his ego got the better of him that time and needs to dial it down a bit to keep his plan working. Yau has to start feeling the pressure now since everyone likes him and would probably win the million dollars if he goes to the finals.

2. Yao has to go
Because no one can beet him in the end. Even the four horsemen will respect that he did so much with such a weak physican frame. Earl knows this and will cut him loose. I would suggest that Earl will get rid of Boo first, who is his only real physical threat who can win at the end. If Earl is in the final three with Dreamz, he knows he will beat him. I suspect its Boo, then Yauman twice (to make him play the idol) and Stacy when YAoman plays the idol. Then its the final three of Earl, Casandra and Dreamz, with Earl winning it all.

3. Dreamz has to go...then Earl...for Yao to stand a chance...
..Alex mis-played his hand...and there are some VERY nervous folks left I think...but I see Earl going before Yao..

4. I think Earl is in control
Yao is too trusting. I lost a little respect for him when he laid all his cards out for Cassandra. I think Earl has him convinced he will go with Earl. I see it goign Boo, then Yao/Stacy, then the other, then the final three with Earl winning a million. Good for him too. He played a great game. If YAo can pull it off, it will be quite a feat. I hope you are right, it would make for a way better last few shows.

6. I agree about Yau being too trusting when talking to
Cassandra and Earl. He just laid his cards on the table before they were called, not smart. I think they need to get the Idol out of play this week then the next vote be Boo so he goes. That idol is very scary for everyone at this point. If anyone has earned the million in this game it's Earl if he can hold on to it. I wouldn't count Earl out in the physical challenges he's been doing pretty well. Boo is strong so is Dreamz, I'm hoping Stacy is out next for backstabbing Alex after he saved her and then Cassandra just because I hate that style of play (under the radar) out of any player like the Asian girl last season that got no votes at the finals(I can't remember her name).

7. you mean Becky
I actually like that style of play.
Anyway, I think you are right about the idol. It has to be played.

8. Thank you, Becky. I couldn't remember her name. I appreciate the
scheming style of play, it's just more entertaining to me I guess.

9. certainly
Its way more fun to watch the Richard Hatches and the Boston Robs, but that is far from the only successful way to play the game.

To be honest, I think only four of the winners came from that approach. Richard Hatch, Panama's Aras, last season's Yul and the truly evil Brian Heidik from Thailand.

Survivor: Outback's Tina Wesson, Africa's Ethan, Guatemala's Danni and Amazon's Jenna each won by playing smart and strong, but hardly being either a physical force or a schemer.

Vanuatu's Tom Westman was a little bit of a schemer, but played the boy scout card in public.

The two who played the stay in the background strategy were Marquesas' Vecepia and Pearl Islands' Sandra. Both of them are $1,000,000 richer than me due to a well played game.
