3. I think he was serious.

When I watched that portion again (I love my DVR) he really looked like he had found true love. He is so desperate for human contact, he seemed to take whatever was even remotely close. I want to feel bad that he was put off the show like that, but I just can't. If he would at least have done SOMETHING I could muster some sympathy.
