TV shows you wish could be brought back
Quantum Leap
Promised Land
Early Edition
Highway to Heaven

(obviously new actors would be needed asp for HTH)

I wish the networks would stop with the reality show craze and work on some decent "family TV" shows. Things with a moral.

1. Good sitcoms about working class folks.

Roseanne -- the early years of course.
Grace Under Fire -- the early years of course.

Anything but these cookie cutter shows about a fat
guy with a skinny pretty wife. Boring.

2. There might be a future for Quantum Leap.
Found these a while ago, not sure if they're still going to make it.

Donald P. Bellisario
Creator and Executive Producer

Harrisburg, Pa.: "Quantum Leap" was one of the greatest shows of all times. I recall when it was cancelled, someone stating that there is always a possibility that the show could return someday. I know it has been several years, but is there still some chance of reviving the show and giving it a second chance?

Donald P. Bellisario: I am working with Universal's scifi channel to create a new Quantum Leap which would have Stockwell as a regular and Scott Bakula appearing at least in the first episode which would introduce a young female reaper.

New Leap, Tremors On SCI FI
The SCI FI Channel, which is now a part of Universal Television Group, is developing a number of original series and films based on existing Universal titles, the network announced. SCI FI will develop a two-hour movie based on the TV series Quantum Leap, which will also serve as a back-door pilot for a possible series. Series creator Don P. Bellisario will executive produce.

4. This is awsome news.
Quantum Leap is a natural for the Sci-Fi Channel. The syndicated epsiodes must be killing in the ratings for it to get a new show.

I'd watch it for sure.

31. A new Quantum Leap!?
Many years ago, Quantum Leap bulletin boards and usenet groups campaigning for a movie or bringing back the series were what got me hooked on the internet. I hope Bellisario isn't just toying with us.

25. I really liked Homicide. Really cutting, current, forceful
subjects, dialogues, and stories. GREAT ACTING.

I had read that they were going to syndicate on A&E, but I never saw that happen. Any updates on that?

14. I loved Homefront
it's a shame that it got cut...I read that it was really expensive cause of the large cast so I guess when they didn't get high ratings...it had to go.

I loved this show about a surly, heavy-set detective who regularly disabled bad guys with a simple karate chop, and who was one of the first people ever to have a mobile phone.

Now that NYPD has finished, Dennis Franz would be a great choice to fill William Conrad's shoes.

9. well, it was soapy but I enjoyed Once & Again and felt....
they rushed to end it. They tied up all the story lines just to have a last show and I think it would have been interesting to see how it played out otherwise.

It sure felt like it. I love his books - Tishamongo Blues was a riot.

Looking forward to "Be Cool"

The Lone Gunman come back. I was thrilled when they got their own show. The three of them were very funny.

I used to love seeing them pop-up in an episode of the X-Files.

15. Line of Fire
I know, not a classic, still I enjoyed it. About a half-dozen episodes on ABC last year, but didn't cut it.

I watch little television, but that was one show I planned my schedule around.

17. Firefly
Farscape

Can't bring these back but something along the lines and quality of "All in the Family" and "MASH".

Yeah, I know they tried an "All in the Family" revival - I think it was called 704 Houser - but I'd like to see a real attempt. Perhaps a cable channel, like HBO, could do it. Because now we have to pay to see freedom of expression.

I've always thought a remake of $6Million Man (or course it would be something much higher with inflation) would be interesting.

22. BTVS ran its course, but I NEED a Joss fix
Joss is wonderful - best writing on TV (once Homicide was off the air, that is). Funny, literate, great characters, snappy dialog (without succumbing to "Gilmore Girls" logorrhea).

I hope he comes up with something soon....
