Blade Runner sequel
While a sequel to Blade Runner may finally get off the ground, it's hard to imagine Ridley Scott will have time to be involved. He's already stated that his next two big budget science fiction movies will be an adaptation of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World with Leonardo DiCaprio as well as an adaptation of Joe Haldeman's The Forever War. I doubt he'll be jumping on board any time soon.

However, Ridley Scott released Blade Runner: The Final Cut last year, his definitive edit of Blade Runner, so perhaps now is a perfect time to continue the story in film.

2. Will it be Harrison Ford, now that he is older?
Edited on Thu Jan-29-09 04:08 PM by AsahinaKimi
I guess, he could, after all he did an older Indiana Jones.

3. About the only thing worse than a Blade Runne sequel would be a Dr. Strangelove sequel
I'm a huge fan of PKD, but come on!

:puke:

4. Don't you blaspheme in here!
Even us uttering the words "remake" and "Dr. Strangelove" could risk sending out dangerous ripples.

Let us not bring the matter up again. x(

5. Bladerunner is cool and all, but it's no Independence Day.

6. Oh my, Forkboy! Bladerunner is more than cool and
much, much deeper than Independence Day with all of its effects (that I love). But gracious goodness, the Bladrunner story is too moving and thought provoking. I say bring on the sequel to see if those tragic sentient beings ever got their desire to extend and enjoy life. :)

7. LOL...I was just kidding.
Devlin and Emmerich are behind the American Godzilla...do you really think I'd like anything they do? ;)

Bladerunner was the second DVD I bought when I first got a player (Das Boot was the first). I love the movie. It doesn't even matter which cut it is. :)

10. What made me laugh...
...was that I got the impression you really wanted to tear me a new one for saying that. It's just so wrong to even think it, let alone say it. :)

:hi:

11. I humbly apologize for my emotional breakdown.
 I saw the director's cut last weekend, and cried like a baby.:rofl: I was ridiculous. Bladerunner gets me right there.

13. I read Jeter's sequel.
Just the first one. That was all I could stomach. And I really wanted to like it too.

15. Oh god, bad idea.
Some works just don't need sequels, they are gem-like and perfect by themselves.

Someobody wants to do some nice cyberpunk, why not a good thoughtful adaptation of "Neuromancer"? I'd also love to see "The Difference Engine" made into a movie but I suppose that'll never happen...the "public" wouldn't get it, or so the Movie Powers That Be assume.

16. How about a nice movie adaptation of Snow Crash?
Gawds, I can't understand why that hasn't already been produced. It reads like an action movie!

17. That's be great too.

Some parts would be 'tough to film' in the same way Gibson novels would be, but hardly impossible.

Edit: great screen name, btw!
