1. Thanks!
"Trailer (and more?) online next Monday
Today the official site (www.startrekmovie.com) has added a new countdown timer, which is counting down to 10AM (Pacific) Monday November 17th. At that time the new trailer (in HD) will be available for viewing. If you cannot wait that long, then go to a showing of the new Bond movie Quantum of Solace this weekend."

2. Is the harsh lighting an artifact of the poor-quality recording?
Or maybe YouTube? Or do you suppose that the film is really shot that way?

4. I'm sure that's how they did it, but...
I can't stand the current trend in "edgy" films to over-light everything in that harsh blue-white blaze. Transformers is one example, as is The Kingdom. When the trailer is officially released, I guess we'll see for sure...

8. Well, that's a relief
It appears that the apparent over-lighting is indeed the result of the poor quality of the pirated video.

And is that a Red Barchetta that Lil' Kirk is driving?

5. I think it looks kind of cool...
I never thought I'd ever say that again, about a Star Trek franchise. Although I agree with a couple of the youtube comments that it looks cool primarily because they are completely deconstructing Roddenberry's mythos. I was never that taken with the original mythos, so for me it's possibly a win. For anybody romantically attached to the original, I can see how it might be a bummer.

7. Thanks for posting! Haven't been to the movies in over 3years
But I have got to see this movie in the theater. Wish my father-in-law was still alive, the oldest Trekkie I've ever known. He would have been thrilled.
