Can you recommend a good Harlan Ellison anthology?
I've read a number of his works in assorted anthologies over the years, but is there a "best" collection of his stuff?

Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

3. To clarify
I actually own an earlier edition of this collection, but it's packed away right now so I can't give you specifics about it at the moment. However, IIRC, it's pretty darned comprehensive for a single volume. That said, I think the best way to collect his writings is to track down some of the smaller anthologies. I've gotten at least half a dozen from used book stores myself.

2. Have you read "Deathbird Stories" collection?
I have this one and it's excellent.

6. Seconded
Also look for Harlan Ellison's Dream Corridor from Dark Horse Comics.

4. Thank you, both, for your replies
I'll try to stop by my local store in the next few days to discover what they have. If both collections are represented, I'll see which one grabs me more readily.

Thanks again.

7. Seconded. Shatterday was excellent.
And Deathbird Stories forever changed my view of how fantasy fiction could be written. Then again, I'm a bit biased, having been an Ellison fan for the past 30 years.

8. But everything! ;-)
Failing that, get the Essential Ellison. It runs the gamut and contains his best essays and fiction.
