The first collection released includes 106,000 pages, consisting of Heinlein's complete manuscripts — including files of all his published works, notes, research, early drafts and edits of manuscripts.' The archives are not for free, but then part of the mission of The Heinlein Trust is to raise funds for The Heinlein Prize to promote commercial space flight. While I'd love to see Heinlein's working notes for free online I also hope profits from The Heinlein Archives will help turn The Heinlein Prize into the "Nobel quality" award that Heinlein envisioned it to be.

2. There Ain't No Such Thing As a Free Lunch

Heinlein was such an inspiration to me as a young reader. I discovered him in the library, and devoured all of his YA SF before high school. As an adult, I don't agree with him on all things, but he was certainly a formative influence for me.
