New Heinlein novel due out
http://variablestarbook.com/

(snip)
In 1955, Robert Heinlein began work on Variable Star, a powerful and passionate science fiction book about two young lovers driven apart by pride, power and the vastness of interstellar time and space, only to set it aside to focus on other sci-fi novels.
(snip)

Personally I usually steer clear of - hmm what do you call this - books written by other writers based on note of another. I tried one of the Spacer novels written by another author but based on Asimov's Foundation universe and Spacer worlds. I think it was Greg Bear, who I usually enjoy, but I couldn't enjoy his "Asimov" story.

1. Well, to be boring

I agree with you again. Although with Spider Robinson doing it... He might just get it right. I don't know though. Old Isaac and Bob had such unique styles. It's hard to have such flat characters that nonetheless win over the reader so thoroughly. :D

On edit: WTF!? David Crosby reviewed it? They had to put David Crosby on the front page of the website? They've got John Varley saying nice things. Wouldn't he have been more appropriate to put on the front page of the website, being a noted science fiction writer and all?

I think he could do it justice.
