Am I alone in thinking the new Doctor Who series...
is better than the old one?

I just caught up this weekend watching the two-part story of episodes 9 and 10. That makes 3 episodes (Dalek, Father's Day, now this) that have brought a tear to my eye. I don't recall ever seeing such good acting and feeling such emotion from any of the old Who shows. (Though they were certainly plenty good in their own right, and got me hooked!)

Brits, anyone else in the know, how is the show doing in the UK? Do they plan to keep making it? Have they announced a new season?

2. BitTorrent, my friend.
Not available here in the states on any TV channel, but the miracle of modern technology can provide... :)

3. It's great
I need to get episode 10 off bittorrent. I didn't watch 9 cause I knew it was a 2 parter and decided just to wait. Anyway, it's definately better than anything since Tom Baker in my opinion, and probably beats even that because of the better effects possible with computers.

Why it isn't being broadcast in the U.S. even on the Sci-Fi channel is beyond me. I don't get it. It's great.

They have announced a new season with a new Doctor. I forget who it is. Some Scottish actor I think. I've heard of him before though I think...Anyway Billie Piper is also leaving. It upsets me. I LOVE her. Her and Eccleston are great together and when he says "Fantastic!" it's just great.

Anyway more episodes but different actors.

4. I did some looking around on the net.
Yes, I was disappointed with the Eccleston leaving but Piper has said she will stay on for the next season. Not the whole season, but up to 7 episodes from what I've heard.

But hey, what's made the show so great has always been the writers and the actors who can lend a new perspective to every incarnation of the Doctor.

5. Yeah I guess
though i like a few doctors better than others that's for sure. Some villans better than others...etc.

I'm definately up for another season though, no matter who is the doctor.

6. Anthony Ainley has been the best Master, I think.
Of course that might just be because he's the one I grew up watching the most. Sort of like Tom Baker is still who I think of when I hear "Doctor Who."

Ainley died last year, from what I heard.

8. Yes, I'm enjoying it immensely
It's worked out better than I hoped. The BBC have done a good job and have a great team of writers.

The programme is pulling high audiences in the UK, it's going to be around for a while to come.
