BSG - latest episode (spoilers warning)
Interesting episode, but they already did the lack of resources once in the 'Water' episode. Now, they're running short of some vital fuel... let me guess, a cliffhangar season finale in which they're short on food?

Overall, good episode, though. Some good action and nice job by Starbuck in her limited role.

1. I liked it
I actually kinda like the fact that they have to account for resources. Sure they could have solved it with a star trekie...

"all our ships are powered with a trillium isolinear quantum singularity which can power the ships indefinately, plus with the replicators we need not worry about food or water."

But no. They need water. They need ore to make fuel. And yes...they probably will have a food shortage soon enough. At least with the fuel though they mentioned 'Now we'll have enough fuel for a few years'.

I liked the tactical aspect of the episode, and bringing in Starbuck for it. They planned a by the book attack, we though she was suggesting a 'fake' when in fact it was a 'double fake'. Usually I pick up on these things, but I didn't realize what they were doing until Adama mentioned that all the units were on the board when Baltar asked about launching more fighters. If I were the cylons I would have fell for it.

Also more development of Baltar. Now he thinks he's an instrument of god. He really seems to believe it now.

All in time for the elections next week. Should be interesting.

2. Continues to impress
Very good.

Excellent development of Starbuck. Shows a realisitic view of how a talented (as recognized by her superior officers) might be led down the road to other paths of advancement.

And again we see Baltar being built up as someone they can always turn to...And Baltar BUYING IT! :)

And we get the "this has all happened before..." theme again.

If I had a nitpick it was the big board. And it isn't much of a nit pick because I understand what they were trying to do and for many people it probably accomplished what they wanted it to accomplish. But it's to 2-dimentional for a realistic tool for planning a space battle I think.
