1. X-Wing
They're all pretty uncomfortable. I'd rather have something I could move around in like the Falcon.

Still if I had to pick a single seat figher I have to go with the X-Wing.

1) The X-Wing has Shields. I think of the rest only the Gallieo Shuttle has even minor shields. Those help.

2) The X-Wing has both 4 Quad mounted laser cannons but also proton torpedoes. The rest are either single delivery or no weapons at all.

3) The X-Wing has independent hyperspace ability. I don't believe any of the rest are able to travel across the galaxy on their own.

4) You get an R2 Unit. There are three that come with accessories. Twiki can't do much of anything except say bidda bidda bidda. The Cylons are pretty cool, but again....they walk shoot (not very well) and lumber about. An R2 unit could keep the ship in good repair, infiltrate computer systems, and other things.

In Exploration it'd be the best because of it's hyperspace, in Repair the R2 unit can't be matched. Combat it would be possibly the best because of it's shields and weapons combinations.

Still I'd prefer a ship I could move around in, but of these the X-Wing is a no brainer.

3. Shuttlecraft Galileo

It might not have the weaponry, but it can go to warp. More importantly, it's got elbow room. Most importantly of all, there's room in there for a toilet.

The 'x' in X-wing stands for crossed legs.

6. Are you sure it can go to warp?
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 09:46 PM by Ravenseye
I don't remember the TOS shuttles having warp capacity.

*edit* And even if they did have Warp, they're not capable of cross-galactic travel. on Star Trek Voyager the time it would take at Warp 9 to cross the galaxy would be over 70 years. The X-Wing with a Hyperdrive can go from end to end of the galaxy easily in far less. Depending on what source you look at, a matter of days. Weeks at the most. Sure it'd be uncomfortable, but you could go far more places, faster, and could just stop along the way for a pitstop on Naboo to visit friends *end edit*

Still if they can it's one up there. But it really didn't have a ton of elbow room, and didn't come with a bathroom I don't think. I guess you could pee in a cup.

Still, even though the X-Wing doesn't have room for an Aerobed it'd keep you alive far longer than the Galileo and unless you're going to have enough room for a permanent bunk and room for a holographic space chess table, it's not really that great a vehicle is it?

7. Of Those Choices I see No Option
As I mentioned I'd just like to point out that having to pick different ships from that list is difficult. Most are single pilot snub fighters. Some come with robot accessories. One is a pure transport unarmed craft.

If you threw in Slave 1 or the Millenium Falcon there though I'd pick either one of those over any of these ships.

2. EA ships
Either of the EA ships since they are about the only ones that seemed designed for space instead of working like an airplane.

By which I mean the wonderful way they could pivot without changing direction.

But on the other hand, I would prefer a Tardis for just plain getting the hell out of there. :-)

5. Had to pick Colonial Viper
To many days (years ago mind you!) spent pretending my BMX bike was one to not choose it now. :)

Good points about the Galileo shuttlecraft though.

(alright I confess I was zooming around just the other day :) )

8. I still pretend my little two-door hatchback is a Colonial Viper
And I'm over forty years old. Old habits are hard to break, and old fantasies never die.

12. The Cylon Raider
... has 3 Cylon pilots, does this mean there are two friendly and one evil Cylon on board?

13. No, you get to sit in the top seat and call the shots
Edited on Thu Mar-03-05 05:40 PM by Enraged_Ape
That way you don't have to ride in the tiny, cold, nonoxygenated cargo area.

ON EDIT: I should clarify that in the original Battlestar Galactica episode "Hand of God", Starbuck and Apollo were able to fly the Cylon Raider without a third pilot. Apollo states in this episode that about all the third pilot was good for was to tell the other two pilots what to do.

Also, in the episode "Baltar's Escape", Baltar attempts a getaway in the Cylon Raider with two Cylon pilots.
