Apparently the DU Muslims decided the Xians were hogging all the fun. In a thread I can't find now...dammit...one of our Major Islamic Apologists weighed in on all the wonderful benefits available to women under Islam. (I'm deliberately not using names, to try and avoid those annoying DELETED posts that often happen to me.)

You see, all those atrocities committed against women in Islamic countries are being perpetrated by people who are not...

You know what's coming...

...REAL Muslims!

Dammit, if people would only follow the original teachings, the lion would lay down with the lamb or however the hell that goes, and all would be just peachy! The followers of Yahweh, Jesus and Mohammed would all sit around the campfire and sing Kumba-fucking-yah together and stuff!

This guy said the prophet Mohammed actually granted women a whole bunch of civil rights. (As if those rights were his and Allah's to grant in the first place.)

Hmmm. I wonder if this is what he means...

...wife-beating must be the last resort to which the husband turns in punishing his wife, and is, according to the Qur'an, Chapter 4, Verse 34, the husband's third step when the wife is rebellious: First, he must reprimand her, without anger. Next, he must distance her from the conjugal bed. Only if these two methods fail should the husband turn to beating.

1. Along with the other basic tenets of ALL major religions
Which include controlling the peasants, fomenting wars, and appropriating money and property. Keeping the women down is a mainstay. They can all put as much lipstick on that pig as they want but that's all it is.

3. What do you mean "us"
I can't tell if I'm a "real" atheist, or a "fake" atheist.
Let alone a "hard" atheist or a "soft" atheist.

If anyone cares: My husband has declared himself a definite "hard" atheist.

4. I recently used the word "militant atheist"
but I am not sure if the person I said this to took it in the spirit it was meant.
