Why the hell should I care what a corrupt politicians CHURCH thinks of him?
Really, is it any wonder these days that people like McDumbass McDonnell don't know about the concept of church and state when the media seems to have no problem crossing the line?
Okay, so the county executive and his wife of the county next to mine (Prince George's County, Maryland) was arrested Friday on corruption charges (they apparantly were opening taking bribes from developers..his wife may have flushed a check for $100,000 and she had almost $80,000 in cash in her underwear- which her hubby told her to hide there from the FBI).
Anyhow, if this story wasn't bad enough already, one media outlet decided it was important to know that all the people in his church are praying for him and think he can be forgiven etc, etc, etc. Why the fuck should this even matter? If he goes to a church and people are praying for him, nothing I can do about it, but why the fuck is this at all newsworthy? Interview the county resisdents who voted for his wife (she just won a county coucil seat in the recent elections) but how is this church shit relevant? So we are supposed to think he can't be that bad and should be forgiven because he goes and mumbles words about God? AAAARGH.
Sorry, but this really got under my skin....And its not like this area is known for its religion, its a pretty secular place. PG county is VERY liberal.

1. Yep...these are the type of people that voted for Rick Scott. here in Florida.
I mean, this dude screwed the taxpayers out of Billions of dollars in fraudulent charges (for health care) while lining his own pockets with many millions...and STILL these fools vote for him to run a state in an honest way.
It just boggles the mind...
Religion is like a nasty, terminal cancer.

2. What makes this much more aggravating for me
Is I'm pretty sure almost everyone involved/interviewed were liberal Democrats. Hate it when the idiocy I'd like to associate with the Right is on display by liberals

3. The same thing happened in Georgia...
Nathan Deal was declared one of the most corrupt politicians in the US Congress...However, that title got him the Republican nomination for Governor of Georgia. Then when the primary was over he began the general election vs Roy Barnes. Barnes produced his personal finances but Deal refused to. His poll numbers went up! Then Nathan Deal finally produced his so-called personal finances but left out that he had a multi-million dollar failed loan...His poll numbers went up again! Then another multi-million dollar failed loan came to light that he failed to disclose and his poll numbers rose again! Then a couple weeks prior to the election a story broke that he tried to use his power as a congressman to get a road paved by one of his personal businesses...He won the election by a landslide!

It did not matter that he was shown to be beyond corrupt as long as he claimed to be anti-women's right to choose, anti-gay & all the other brain dead claims your typical American Christian claims are the root of all this country's problems!

We are screwed! This country is getting more religious & more anti-science with each passing year!

Maybe I am wrong & due to the fact I live in the deep south my opinion of America is jaded...But seeing how all that Obama & the Democrats did to keep this country from sliding into another great depression & the Republicans did nothing to help! Yet they were able to gain back control of the House in a record setting election without having to tell the public one thing they would do to reduce the deficit while creating jobs...Americans are delusional & religion plays a huge role in this delusion!
