2. How ironic! I just recently heard about...
Some college-age Fundie missionaries who do a "mission trip" every year. But they are specialists - they alternate between trying to convert the Mormons in Salt Lake City one year, and trying to convert the "skeptics and atheists" (sic) at UC-Berkeley, CA the next year.

No, I'm not having drug-induced hallucinations, dammit! I heard this while monitoring the local Fundie radio station here in Los Angeles.

Success rate? I had to read between the lines, since they didn't come right out and say this. But I'm pretty sure it's zip, nada, zilch on both fronts. If they had won even a single sinner/Latter-Day Saint, they would have been bragging about it non-stop.

"It's really hard," one young woman complained. "In Berkeley, they will listen to us politely. Then say, 'Well, that's what you believe and that's OK. But I don't believe that.'

"We just can't convince them that we have the HISTORICAL, BIBLICAL TRUTH on our side."

But remember, kids - the most arrogant people on Earth are those icky atheists.

3. that makes sense
mormonism seems to be such an insular sect that conversions via ministry (as opposed to trauma, or disenchantment) have to be really rare.

and we evil atheists have already heard their crap, thought about it, and rejected it

6. "Did you hear what I said"
"This is inappropriate, take us off your list."

So... there are lists with our names on it that they use to "convert"? :scared:
