The Christians have resumed persecutions again....
Edited on Tue Oct-20-09 04:21 PM by icymist
All last week I've been following news articles out of Africa where Pentecostal pastors are accusing children of witchcraft. Today I read where one of these children have died after being burned by trying to force the child to drink acid. This church, The Mount Zion Lighthouse is a branch of a California church by the same name that claims is out of their control.

<snip>
The Nigerian church is a branch of a Californian church by the same name. But the California church says it lost touch with its Nigerian offshoots several years ago.

"I had no idea," said church elder Carrie King by phone from Tracy, California. "I knew people believed in witchcraft over there but we believe in the power of prayer, not physically harming people."
<un-snip>

So what am I to gather from this? Christians can create the mess and then walk away from it? If that wasn't enough, now Christians are demonstrating in Australia claiming that witches are causing their politicians to become, wait for it..... LIBERAL! OMFG!

<snip>
witches have cast spells on our politicians to make more liberal laws about homosexuals and abortions and if we don't do something soon (like a mass prayer to ask God to get back on our side) we're going to have more natural disasters, including bush fires.
<un-snip)

You heard it.... Witches are responsible for natural disasters....not global warming, not endless wars, not uncontrolled capitalisim..... witches! And gay witches are even worse!

Now, to make matters even worse, I just found an article in a Hindu paper where Muslims are torturing women accused of witchcraft at the insistence of a 'witchdoctor'

<snip>
Five women were stripped and paraded naked in Deoghar district of Jharkhand after being charged of witchcraft, police said on Monday.

Five women, including three widows, were forcibly brought to a field Sunday in Patharghatia village in Deoghar, about 350 km from state capital Ranchi. They were stripped and paraded naked and two of them were forced to eat excreta, police said.
<un-snip>

The world is getting crazier!
Aruggggh!

1. I will never understand
why some infantile folks are so obsessed with what other people do with their own pee-pee's.

3. I would do this in a heartbeat as well, but these are churches.....
They don't have the same rules as, say corporations. Unfortunately, we can't touch them legally thanks to Bush! It disgusts me to no degree! I'm pissed! This so-called-church in California goes to this country as missionaries, establishes their distorted religion as absolute in the people there as 'God Given', then they leave them to themselves?! I'm sorry, these people have got to be held responsible for what happens to the population under their so-called-gods' name when they leave and afterwords.

Don't this say a lot about the RW so-called personal responsibility?

4. I believe it is only the corporations under government contract we cant sue...
I am fairly sure we could sue the churches still.
Might not get millions but it might make them knock it off.
