More possible fuel to the brokered convention fire:
Edited on Wed May-28-08 05:29 PM by lildreamer316
About the reports today that FL and MI will not be fully seated. This article says:

"The analysis also said there is an option to restore 100 percent of the delegates — by a recommendation of the Credentials Committee that meets later this summer. However, that would mean a final decision would not be made until the first day of the convention in Denver since Credentials Committee decisions have to be approved by the full convention as it convenes — risking a floor fight."

Gore is also for seating the delegates.

Dkos Diary pointing out this fact (Gore actually said it in the NPR interview, linked in one of my other posts):

1. Be still my heart!!
You've got to listen to that little snippet from the Terry Gross show that's linked through the dailykos link. She asks him point blank if there's a chance that he might become the Dem. nominee with one of the others as his VP. "Has anyone talked to you about this as a possibility?" Gore - "Heh, heh, heh. In a year of remote contingencies that's about as remote as you might imagine." (Not sure I have the quotes exact, but close.) He said he really believes that between June 3 and the Convention, there will be a nominee chosen. Notice, he does not say that the idea of him being a compromise candidate hasn't been discussed, just that it's a very remote contingency.

What to make of all that? I guess I still think that the MI and FL mess will be resolved this week-end and even though that may move the finish line a bit for Obama, he will still get there. The critical period, I think, will be the week following the last primary. If enough super delegates don't announce for Obama at that point and/or there are on-going court challenges to whatever is decided on MI and FL on May 31, then I think this thing is going to carry on a bit longer. At that point, we may decide to try to focus some attention on writing letters to super delegates.

Lildreamer - how about posting your original note over on the Yahoo site. There may be some people there who don't visit her often, if at all.
