Welcome one and all.
There may be some of you reading this who can't, or don't want to post on DU. If you are at all interested in the efforts we are undertaking in data collection and other measures to get ready in case we want to let super delegates know that Gore is a solution to the Dem. nomination problem, you can contact me directly at rbailey22@rochester.rr.com and I will add you to a direct e-mail list so you can keep informed and, hopefully help us out. At the moment, there are DU folks in about a dozen states starting to do research on how to contact super delegates in their state. The other aspect of this effort will be for people to contact any and all friends who might be interested in writing letters to their super delegates if it seems appropriate to do that (e.g., in case the pledged delegate totals won't get either candidate the nomination and a compromise/unity candidate seems essential). We want to be as inclusive as possible and cover as many states as possible in this effort.

One says "A Climate Change in Washington - Gore 2008" and the other says "Re-Elect Gore 2008.

16. Mine too!
I actually had a lady come up to my car window when I was stopped at a light one day and ask me where she could get one.

17. Here's another kick for the smartest choice we've got.
Whenever I hear "...but he's EARNED it..." (meaning you-know-who) I make a wish for the ability to projectile vomit on command.

This has nothing to do with earning anything.

18. Anyone notice
how quiet it has gotten at this site. Does that mean all the interest in Gore has gone away. Quite the contrary; most of us are now at the Yahoo group site where we are continuing the plans begun here to move forward on trying to get Gore's name in the minds of the super delegates if, as appears likely, there is going to be a deadlocked convention. There are recent pertinent articles at the site, along with discussions of strategy and plans to start some preliminary letter writing to a few targeted super delegates now. Again, we are in no way trying to "steal" the nomination from either of the two candidates now in the primaries; our intent is to move forward with messages to lots of super delegates only if it appears that neither of the candidates will win the nomination on the first ballot at the convention. We anticipate there will be a number of super delegates (or delegates pledged to someone other than Clinton or Obama) to sit out the first ballot and thereby force at least a second ballot. That is the point at which Gore's name could be introduced as a unifying candidate. Come visit us: http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/DraftGore08/. We're a friendly bunch and the discussion is moderated so no nasty comments such as are often seen on DU threads.
