i am waiting for him to endorse another candidate.
just wanted to put that out there. not so much waiting for a sherman statement as waiting for a sign that he thinks there is a candidate in the race that he can support. when we talked to dylan malone of draftgore.org that is what he said would be a deciding factor, that one of the stooges would be up to the job of saving the planet. i don't know about you guys, but i just don't see anyone even really talking about it.
oh yeah, and- put al in the straw poll. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=2261308&mesg_id=2261308

1. I'm with you on this one, mopinko
I figure I don't have to commit to anyone else before my state's primary, so why not hold out for Al. If he does endorse someone else, then I'll give them a look, but I don't feel compelled to make a Shermanesque choice just yet. :D

3. Beginning to think something is going on
I am not one to believe in weird unusual stuff but this is getting out of control. NO real candidate for either side and everyone is going nuts and the one person everyone wants is off making money???

I think we may be in for a brokered convention for the first time in our live times and I am ready for it and will enjoy every bit of it.

4. Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) ...
brokered convention

–noun U.S. Politics. a party convention in which many delegates are pledged to favorite sons who use their blocs of votes to bargain with leading candidates who lack a majority of delegate support.

It could happen.

5. It's over, from what I can tell, Mo
Now that people from inside his office have told everyone to stop, I'm afraid that's it.

Dodd is really my next choice, but I may get behind Edwards, since I seriously doubt Dodd has a chance. Either that, or I'll wait for an endorsement from Al. I probably have until February to need to make a decision.

6. I'm where you are, except
I need to decide sooner. I want to run for convention delegate and I need to declare for a candidate next month. Dodd is the only one speaking out very much about the destruction of the constitution, which is my main issue. My belief is, we can't do anything about climate change or any other issue if we are living in a fascist state, so restoring the constitution is #1.

Dodd doesn't seem to have much of a chance. Edwards is my number two, but he seems to be fading. Everything is getting really screwy in my opinion, like someone above mentioned. I can not support Hillary. I think she is going to fall apart soon anyway. I really don't know what is going on right now, but I feel sure there are major pieces of information that are being kept from the public.

Does anyone have any insight on who might have a chance to come out stronger than they have been, especially now that Gore is out (apparently)?

7. I don't need no damn endorsement. We know the score.

I also think that Dodd is the closest in terms ideology, mostly for the reason you state.

But I have to think that when it finally comes time for (and if) the non-Clinton vote rallies, it will be around Obama.

I'd like to see Gore comment on the plans. But not so sure I even want to hear an endorsement before the convention.

8. Well, I really don't care about an endorsement either
Other than the fact it would prove he's out, the endorsement doesn't mean a lot to me. The endorsements that I find important are the ones that come from large groups of people - mainly the unions. I don't think too many people are going to vote for someone because Gore endorsed him, or her. I think people at this point, especially after the months or years of waiting, kind of feel like we're on our own now. I guess this is triggering my abandonment issues, and I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way.

I do suspect that Obama may be our last, best hope to defeat Hillary. I certainly like him better than her, but he's far from my top choice. I wish Edwards or Dodd would really pick up so I could support someone whole-heartedly. This election is so crucial. Will we have the rule of law, or the rule of man? This is it, make or break time. I'm very worried.
