today's rationalization- al gore's evil plot
ok, i am getting a little nervous. but here is why i am thinking it is not too late yet- al can afford to miss the michigan primary, cuz that is a quagmire, anyway. we are next here in illinois. i don't think anything is moving here. al would have a hard time beating barack in illinois, anyway. but i am wondering if it isn't part of the plan. see, if al misses a couple deadlines, this not only increases the suspense, it leads to the real goal, perhaps, of a civics lesson. perhaps al can shake up the primary process. perhaps he will run as a write-in in the early states. perhaps a late entry will cause a real contest to erupt. and maybe a brokered convention. wouldn't that be fun? i think so.
so, who's with me?

4. I would take that but
my fervent hope for Al getting in dwindles away a little bit with each passing day. (And it makes a knot in my stomach.)
And my frustration is slowly giving way to misdirected anger.

I also no longer tell my friends excitedly, "He's getting in! I can FEEL it!"

I just wish he would give a statement like in 2003 if he is not going to run.

Sorry about the negativity.

sigh...

5. Know how you feel
I want him to tell us and then if its no, give us an idea of what to do...if he sits it out there has to be a reason...doing the same old calling, emailing, protesting, etc doesn't seem to get us anywhere.

6. Every time I give up and think I am making a commitment to someone else
I get scared that I'm giving up too soon and pull back and think, "I'll just wait." Then, later, I think I am stupid and should just make the jump. I think this is the classic definition of ambivalent, or maybe hopefulness, or maybe stupidity, or maybe optimistic... Okay, I admit it, I don't think I'm ready to give up on Gore just yet.
