i want to be a gore delegate.
the draft gore movement is moving, as far as i am concerned. pretty much everything that i had thought was at work as far as al getting in the race were confirmed in the draft gore meeting that we had at kos.
not being an actual campaign, our marching orders were a little fuzzy. but here is what i am thinking and doing.
1- go to http://gorehub.com
2- bring your credit card.
3- give them your info, as they are definitively working on getting all the petitioners, etc on lists that a campaign could use, should one arise.
4- wear a button, put a bumpersticker on your car.
5- find a reason to talk to people about al. check with your local laws about the eventual validity of any petitions you might pass. actually legal is better, but supporters are supporters.
6- look into the delegate structure in your state, and think about supporting delegates for gore.
7- get to know your local democratic party, if you don't already. if you do- poke them a few times. then poke them again.
8- blog.
in other words, build a people powered campaign, and he might come. he knows his duty. he cares about his duty to this country, and this planet. and- although possible presidential candidate is a pretty good platform, it is over in nov 08. that will not get the job done. or even started, for that matter, with no candidates even talking about the planet.

so, i am thinking that when i go to the ward dem meeting on monday, i will see what they say.

1. Well that was fast!
We just got in the door. I want to be a delegate too. Not sure how to get signed up locally here - but I sure would love to go to the convention to see Al Gore nominated. And with that bit of fine daydreaming, I am going to bed.

Was a pleasure meeting you tonight. Look forward to playing again in the future!

Oh, and K & R!

7. That's my goal in life right now.
It was great meeting you guys the other night. I'm still here at YK, the closing brunch is almost over and then I have a few hours to kill before I go to the airport.

Denver, here I come -- I hope!

Travel well.

10. OMG
You are going to have a ton of jealous KOEBers on your hands! I'm sooooooo jealous!

Get this -- Bunny Planet PMd me. She's had a gallery opening in Nashville Saturday night, which she did not attend, and guess who was there! Yup -- Al and Tipper in the flesh. Talk about jealous!

11. All true.
Hillary said she was still going to take lobbyists' money. What I think she really meant was that there are certain lobbyists who are okay -- e.g., teachers, nurses and such. She didn't clarify very well.

Yes, the crowd loved Edwards, but they all did very well.

And also yes -- they didn't ask anything about global warming. To Richardson's credit, the first thing he said in the breakout session was that he didn't understand why they didn't talk about it and he talked about his plan and that the Sierra Club and another group have given him the highest rating.

12. I'll have to take a look at
Richardson's plan. I didn't know he had one. Good on him for mentioning it at all.

13. I'll try to post some of my thoughts on YKos over the next few
days when I have time to really think about it and download my photos.

I'll probably post in the KOEB and in GD or GDP.

2. Great work.
I agree, all this talk from the current candidates about which countries we'll talk to or attack and nothing being said about global warming. It's shameful.

Thanks for that link!
