A transfer of authority ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday at Multi-National Division-Baghdad headquarters, where leaders of the 1st Cavalry Division will case their colors and hand off the reins to the 4th Infantry Division.

After a 15-month rotation in Baghdad at Camp Liberty, 1st Cavalry Division commander Maj. Gen. Joseph Fil will lead the ceremony before the remainder of the division’s soldiers return to their home base at Fort Hood, Texas.

Soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division have been deploying to Iraq for the past 45 days. They will take over the MND-B mission following a transfer of authority ceremony during which they will uncase their division colors.

Leading the MND-B headquarters will be 4th ID commanding general Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Hammond.
